Fred Fawcett won a silver medal at the European Karate Championships in Manchester.

This was the second European medal won by the seventh dan, adding to a gold he earned several years ago.

Fawcett is chief instructor at Bradford Shotokan Academy, based at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre.
