Farsley face third meeting with Ossett Albion in eight days

Farsley face a tricky FA Cup first qualifying round replay away from home on Tuesday after being held at Throstle Nest by Ossett Albion.
Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate means the clubs are heading for a third meeting in eight days.
Neil Parsley’s men had to travel to Evo-Stik Division One North rivals Albion last Tuesday for a league game and lost 2-0.
That gave Ossett a boost before the FA Cup derby, and it showed as Darryl Lucas gave them a half- time lead at the Nest. Lucas latched onto the rebound after a shot had been blocked.
Farsley levelled after the hour when Ben Jones slotted in after Gareth Grant had squared the ball to set him up.
That restored the home side’s confidence, and Albion were holding on for a replay towards the end.
There will be no fairy tale for Eccleshill United as they bowed out to higher opposition after winning through two pre-qualifying rounds.
The Eagles were beaten 2-0 at home by Evo-Stik Premier Division high-fliers North Ferriby United.
It was a brace from Ferriby’s former Cheltenham Town striker Gary Bradshaw that proved the difference.
He netted a first-half penalty after he had been clipped in the area, and lashed an 86th-minute direct free-kick into the top corner.
