Yorkshire one win from promotion after beating Glamorgan

Yorkshire’s hopes of an immediate return to Division One of the LV=County Championship have been given a major boost.
The white rose county secured a thumping 22-point win over Glamorgan today at Headingley after beating their opponents by eight wickets inside three days.
It means they’ll head into next week’s final match of the season at Essex knowing a win will all but guarantee promotion.
The victory is Yorkshire’s first at Headingley in the four-day game this year and means they’ve achieved back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time in more than two years.
A terrific bowling display saw them dismiss the visitors for only 182 in their second innings, Steven Patterson’s 4-47 helping the paceman to 8-96 in the match and Bradford's Moin Ashraf taking 3-42.
Their efforts helped Yorkshire require only 111 to win and Adam Lyth led the way with a fluent half- century to secure the success.
Victory meant Yorkshire temporarily moved to within a point of the leaders Derbyshire, who are 30-1 chasing 404 to beat Kent ahead of tomorrow's final day.
Yorkshire won’t know exactly what they need to do next week in order to win promotion until that match and the one between Kent and Hampshire have been completed.
