Olivier Elima confirms Catalan switch from Bradford Bulls

Olivier Elima is heading back to France to rejoin Catalan Dragons Olivier Elima is heading back to France to rejoin Catalan Dragons

Olivier Elima today confirmed he is to quit the Bulls and return to Catalan Dragons on a two-year deal.

The France skipper, 29, is one of 17 players out of contract at the end of the season and will return to the club he played for between 2008 and 2010.

He now looks set to line up against the Dragons on Saturday in Perpignan for the final game of the regular season.

The second-rower told the T&A: “I’ve been at the club before, I know the players and I’m obviously the France captain. It’s just an easy link for me to go back there with my family.”

Not that much of a loss tbh. Bateman and Olbison competing for that spot now, both better players than Oli. Too many penalties from Oli to class him worthy of an extension.

Anyway, Good luck next year Oli

Think you are stretching a bit to say Olbison is a better player now, maybe in the future but IMHO not as yet.
Elima did give silly penalties away but he had something the rest of our forwards lack - nastiness and aggresion and an ability to get in the oppositions face, think back to McCullurum for Wigan at the JJB, he lost it big time because of Oli.We need forwards like him, pity Concrete Karl aint still around.
Think Bateman could be one tho.

When do they let you out of New Hall.
If that's where you are?

Hopefully soon as then you won't have the facilities of computers etc.

And we won't be subjected to your innarticulate ramblings.

Nothing at all surprising in this announcement. Good luck to the lad, returning home with his family is a good move and I wish him all the best and thank him for his effort whilst in the red, amber and black shirt. There are further departures which, also, will not come as a surprise. What the Telegraph needs to ferret out is news of who is staying. The roller-coaster ride will soon end but you will be able to pay for another ride next season. Onwards and upwards.

You are probably right there AN.
Wonder what the compunction is to make a complete and utter foolish prat of themselves?

Maybe it's the fact they think they are
anonymous, and they can't be traced?
How wrong can they be, the name and address is with the site administrator.

Anyway the story in hand is far more important, can I say that Olivier has been an inspirational player, and I am sorry to see him go, but the south of France must have it's compensations if they wish we will have Leon back in exchange? No- OK.!!!...

Good luck mon brave'.

Cougars narrowly lost to Fax 28-24 tonight. Great effort from the lads against a team who are probably puttjng themselves up for the Bulls place in Super League.

Fax deserve it out of the 3 mentioned.
