Bradford Dudley Hill were narrowly defeated 19-6 by Leigh Miners’ Rangers in the semi-final of the Conference Challenge Cup.

Hill, looking to book a place in a major final for the first time since 2005, got off to a tremendous start when they took the lead after just five minutes.

Forward Callum Dinsdale offloaded in the tackle to hooker Nathan Kitson, who in turn found the on-rushing Alex Dickinson, who powered over.

However, Leigh were to prove the more clinical in attack, scoring four tries without reply.

Hill’s effort was faultless and was typified by the hard working pair of Willy Woodhead and Steve Lamond.
