Bradford Bulls takeover yet to be ratified by RFL

The RFL board of directors will meet next week to decide whether to grant membership of the RFL to the new owners of Bradford Bulls.

The governing body has not yet completed the due diligence into the consortium led by Omar Khan and is still waiting to receive the documentation required for the Board to make its decision.

Once the outstanding documentation has been received, the board will convene to reach a decision on a process which has involved the RFL Executive working closely with the administrator and interested parties on a daily basis over the last six weeks.

RFL Director of Standards and Licensing Blake Solly said: “Whilst it is entirely understandable that Mr Khan has been keen to announce his purchase of Bradford Bulls from the administrator, he is aware that we cannot formally grant membership until we have had sight of information which his bankers will supply on Monday or Tuesday.

“We remain hopeful that this process will reach a conclusion in the early part of next week, allowing Bradford Bulls to enter a new chapter in their history and put behind them the uncertainty of the last few months.

“The prospects for Bradford Bulls have improved significantly following the offer to purchase the club by Super League (Europe) Ltd which stimulated wider interest from prospective owners.

“Since then we have worked long and hard with a number of interested parties leading to the administrator completing his sale of Bradford Bulls to Mr Khan on Friday.

“Whilst we do not anticipate any major problems, it is essential that we make all the necessary checks before granting membership of the RFL to the new owners.”

The RFL board of directors will next week to decide whether to grant the new owners membership of the RFL.

A decision on which competition Bradford Bulls will participate in from 2013 will be made at a future date.

Where do they get this priggish behaviour from?

We all seem to know that we should be suffering-seen to be suffering-suffering with no conditions to speak of. And then going to them with humility and due dilligence, to ask their forgiveness for wanting to know before the next season where we are likely to end up, after this sad, sad fiasco.

Isn't it time the RFL gave transparency a chance. We have a right to know, even supporters have to plan their budgets. For next seasons tickets prices. Next week or in due course is not the answer we want!

I have smelt political stalling tactics all along from all parties involved, but they still persist don't they!

This thing is coming to and end, stop being so negative as it takes time.
The Bulls look like they will emerge out the otherside so whats a week or two if it ensures the future of the club.
Frustrating it might be but the RFL have helped the club massively through this administration if you take off your blinkers and you should be a little more thankful than constantly slagging them off.

"Stop being so negative" please tell me thats a 'tongue in cheek' remark by the British Gold Medalist in negativity!
.
Your opinion about 'whats a week or two?' demonstrates how very little knowledge of Rugby League you have TVoR - you just don't get it ,do you, sitting there in your simple little world! I hope your understanding of 'other' things is infinitely more comprehensive or you really are a boring, misinformed individual. How does that saying go again, ah yes, 'If you see two people talking and one looks bored rigid, your the other one! There, more abuse for you to muse about naysayer!

You keep on slating the RFL and moaning how long this is taking whilst the rest of us realise things take time and things are now coming into place and a week or two is nothing the long run of securing the future of the club.

Perhaps if you were an out of contract player, or a coach & staff who haven't received payment, you might consider the stalling tactics in a different light. Our players need to know where they will be next season. Our supporters need to plan whether they can afford season tickets. The Odsal Stadium Staff need to sell the concept of Rugby League matches to supporters, old & new. We also need more sponsors - come on this is the real world we live in. Mrs.R

Its a great shame the RFL have not been more open.

it is a great shame the admnistrater has not been more open.

the information available to prospective purchasers has been very poor.

The RFL should certainly have clarified clearly what the Bulls needed to do to retain their super league franchise in exiting administration.

I feel fairly sure the review anounced will see the Bulls still in SL ahead of Featherstone and Halifax.

But there is still uncertainty.
The ratification of the takeover is a formal dotting of the I"s process.

How dissapointing the crowd was on saturday given the excitement generated by the previous days announcement.

So here we have the new owners of the Bulls been required to pay nearly three quarters of a million in wages alone to cover sept, october and November and noone knows yet whether these super league players on super league contracts are going to be able to take part in super league next season.

And the sept 1 deadline is passed so the players not offered new contracts are free to talk elsewhere.

who can offer them a contract when the dithering continues a plenty.

Poor Omar.
Now there is a buyer the Bulls future in SL league needs resolving very quickly.

So people can get on with their lives.
And proper planning for the future can commence.

Noone comes out of this sorry tale with much credibility.

But I think most are right the Bulls need SL and SL needs the Bulls.

But not the Bulls seen last night.
No excuse.

But uncertainties are helping not one iota so come on RFL make your decision quick now please,so the pwners can start telling 10000 core fans and 158 employees where they stand going forward

Just one example of how the uncertainty affects.

Sky money to the Bulls is worth about 1.2 million a year.

Plus about £20000 for televised games.

Championship clubs get none.

17 players are out of contract in 3 months.
By not being offered new contracts by 1.9 they are free to talk with other clubs.

How can Omar set next years season ticket deals and offer players his coach wants to keep new deals if they have no idea which league they will be in.

Just one example of the uncertainties effect.

Come on now RFL sort it quick.
The Bulls liquidity was certainly affected by the lease transfer.
The Rfl were complicit.

Time to move on now quickly.

And reshape your game so this does not continue to beset the game.
Who next Salford or Cas?

We both agree fully with your comments, you have hit the nail right on the head with your well constructed words.. Thank you. You have said what most of us feel and cannot seem to get through to the powers that be. As to the match on Sat. we feel that a large proportion of our supporters may well have had planned other things, not even thinking the match would be changed. My wife for one had to bring our young grandchildren to the match 3 & 8 but had to leave at half time for the 3 year old. Others had weddings etc. However, lets hope for a speedy end to all this and a new future COYB
