Half-price deal just the ticket for Bradford City fans

City hope to entice more untapped support for the new season with a bonus cut-price ticket deal.

The club have introduced a short-term offer as a “thank you” to fans who have already committed for next term.

Supporters with season tickets or flexi-cards can purchase an extra 50/50 card at half price.

Until close of business on July 31, they will be able to buy 50/50 tickets for £25 – 50 per cent off.

The ‘treble 50’ offer is only open to those who have already snapped up one of the deals. But original 50/50 tickets are back on sale at £50 for the same period for anyone who missed out before.

Director of operations David Baldwin said: “It’s our way of rewarding the 8,500 season-ticket and flexi-card holders. They have the opportunity to buy another one at half price for a friend or family member.

“We believe more out there will do it and it would be great to have that bigger voice behind the team.

“It’s all about adding to the momentum of the upward feeling that people are getting about the club.

“People are sensing good things now and I don’t think it’s blind optimism. They have looked at what we are putting together with the squad and how the chairmen have pushed the budget out.

“I think supporters have realised that we are really going for it.”

City have been pleased with the take-up for the 50/50 offer, which allows fans to book their seat for £50 and then pay half-price admission every time they go to Valley Parade.

“The flexi system allows people to cherry-pick their games and it generates extra income,” said Baldwin.

“If we are going well, we could be swelling the coffers and the crowds, which will increase the budget.

“But this treble 50 campaign is a one-off as a thank you. Don’t think that in 12 months’ time you can hold fire and get a ticket at the cheaper price, because you won’t.”

Nice to see the T&A are on the ball.
This was announced a week last Friday by the club.

Dear Mr. Correctnes,

you, and people of your ilk are so cynical towards everything City try to do, I honestly don't know why you even bother to read the T&A City section - let alone bother with your pointless comments.

You and your cynical mates should just go away and find something more interesting and positive to do with your lives.

Strapped for cash? 8,500 s/tks - 50-50's sold and that already means we will have the best home crowd average once again. Either you are just a negative person or a wind up merchant. If I were you, I'd stop watching City and take up Needlework

Don't bother with him. He's a sad individual who posts nonsense in the hope of getting a reaction. I remember kids like him in the school playground, they usually grow out of in in their teens, but not always.

Whilst agreeing that this bloke is a pointless **** don't be fooled into thinking 8.5k is a massive budget. We will have the best attendance again but not all of the 8.5k have paid 200, over 1k have only paid 50 quid and some of the other 7k will be concessions.

This lad, troll, or what ever, does the same on bulls forum. Best ignored.

This bloke is definately not 'pointless' and if you want to look a little deeper look at Odasl and no 50/50's. You fans don't be fooled by the Robin 'Hoods' at VP.

There are some City fans that have a go a Bulls attendance figures but 8,500? think about it. This is just another PR thing, no different to the Bulls just a different way of doing it. All just a gimmick for both clubs. This whole ego thing on here is pointless, why can we not support each other and not make stupid comments? Confuses me!

Baldwin, Rhodes and Lawn will always get their detractors, but you can't deny that they have had success in getting in large crowds to see a consistently struggling team that plays dire football. Football is very expensive to watch and personally speaking I will not pay £20 for a match day ticket for the 4th division, I can't commit to a season ticket because of restrictions of work and in principle I do agree with the 50/50 it isn't something for me. When I pick and choose games that is what I do, pick and choose. I am paying £20 to go see to matches at Old Trafford end of this week and one of the teams I am going to see is Brazil. £10 to see Brazil, I have supported the Bantams since the mid 80s, but because of finance now, I sooner look out for cheap tickets and still enjoy my football. You will always see me at the mid week cup games irrespective who we draw. Got to mention the price for the game at Notts County, just 3 words "Dont think so".

Just one other comment, it's not just all about getting every ticket sold to an adult, what many don't realise, even if there are a good proportion are children or OAPs, there is still the benefit of large crowds on 2 fronts, sponsorship and attracting particular players that may not normally want to play in the 4th division. The ticket sales is not all about revenue, that is not the be all and end all.

Okay, now you are in a more engaging mood, explain that a little clearer please. The 50/50 is an addition to an early bird ST deal, what has this got to do with anything going on at Odsal? I know they offered cheap Season Tickets this year but at the price they offered them they didn't get enough of a take-up to make it viable, City have been walking this path since they dropped into this division and apart from the scare mongering last close season to try **** one or both of our landlords into action I don't think there have been too many financial issues. Obviously not cash rich but neither, in football terms are we spiralling beyond our means.

Interested in your response and would be very interested if you could provide any figures. I am going on the info from a couple of seasons back when if the Cham League financial rules had been implemented City and Scunthorpe would have been the only two English teams allowed to compete.
