Bradford No1 AA

The junior match at Raskelf last Saturday was won by Kara Sugden with 24lb of ide on worm. Harry Sandham had 16lb 13oz of F1s for second, followed by Matt Foster with 15lb of crucians. The under-11s was won by Katie Wilson with 20lb 10oz of F1s followed by Sam Taylor with 18lb 4oz. Kara also picked up the junior aggregate weight trophy for the two matches with a total weight of 34lb 12oz. Sunday’s committee match was moved to the big lake at Ripon and was won by S Foster with four bream for 15lb 4oz. Eric Thomas caught two tench for 5lb 10oz. The first ever winner of the Harry Foster Memorial Trophy for the aggregate weight over the three committee matches was Simon Freer with 56lb 15oz. Beal is closed on Sunday for an outside booking, along with some of the club’s stretches of the River Calder, for the first round of the Calder League. The draw for this year’s Calder League is at 9am at the New Inn at Brighouse, which will be open from 8am for bacon and sausage sandwiches and tea and coffee. Kirklees Lagoon is fishing well for tench on feeder.

Clayton AC

There was a better attendance for last Saturday’s open match at Rodley. The winner was J Needham with 4lb 8oz, 2 M Mannion 3lb 1oz, 3 W Barker 2lb 7¼oz, 4 T Melling 2lb 5oz. Washburn Valley Fishery

Catch details for the week ending July 15 – Day ticket: Fewston 25, Swinsty 9, Thruscross (catch and return) 2. Total fish caught: Fewston 50, Swinsty 25, Thruscross 11. Average per rod: Fewston 2.0, Swinsty 2.8, Thruscross 5.5. The heaviest fish caught this week was a 5lb 2oz rainbow trout by J Taylor using Dawsons Olive. Fewston and Swinsty: Better weather this week has helped give anglers more enthusiasm. Fish feeding at all levels still, may fly hatching throughout the day, also hoppers and sedge. Thruscross: Lots of food now available for brown trout to feed on. Midge, Sedge, Alder Fly and Hoppers.

Field AC

The winner of our match on Loco at Lindholme was Paul Chadwick with 48lb 2oz. A close second was Rob Lee with 42lb 2oz and third was Pete Milner with 34lb 6oz. Our next match is on Sunday, August 5 at Birkwood Farm. Members wanting to fish should book on quickly as there are limited pegs available. The weekend away is rapidly approaching and anyone going should make sure they have all the information they require.

Bradford City AA

Shipton Lake will be closed to anglers until midnight of Sunday, July 29/Monday July 30 for improvement works to roadside banking. Result of the Copper Kettle Challenge held at Brampton Farm on Sunday: 1 D Hare (Harrogate) 3lb 4oz, 2 N Millstead (Harrogate) 1lb 10oz, 3 R Brooksbank (Bradford City) 1lb 1oz. The next match is on our new water on the River Nidd at Goldsborough on Sunday, August 5, draw 9am. To book on contact match secretary Tony Greenwood on 07971-428678. Sunnydale reservoir is fishing well for bream, roach and perch but care should be taken as the banks are slippery.

Bradford City AA

The committee have arranged for some work to be undertaken on the banking at Shipton Lake. Consequently, from a safety point of view, the fishery will be closed until Sunday, July 29.

Great Horton AC

Hewenden Angling Club
