Nathan Kitson has been selected for the England Lions squad
Jason Lee breathed a sigh of relief after Dudley Hill squeezed through to the Conference Challenge Cup quarter-finals with a 28-16 home win over Ovenden.
Hill led through Gavin Mezals’ early score but Ovenden hit back through Shaun Smith and Luke Sandland added a second try for the Halifax side after the restart.
Hill replied through Andy Robinson’s try but Ovenden claimed a third through Luke Sutcliffe.
However, Lewis Evans’ try put Hill back in the ascendancy and further home scores from Mezals and Nathan Kitson confirmed Hill’s victory.
* Hill have three players in the English Lions side to face Scotland A at Falkirk this Saturday, kick-off 2pm.
David Dunwell and Kitson will both line up in the front row against the Scots, while three-quarter Neil Wall will also make the trip as 18th man.
The Lions head north for their second Community Game Four Nations encounter after opening with a comprehensive 56-8 win over Wales in Hull late last month.
