Hundreds of dedicated Bradford Bulls fans queued out of the gates at Odsal Stadium to snap up items available in yesterday’s stock clearance sale.

People waited for hours in the rain to get inside the shop, all with the same motive in mind – to help keep their club afloat.

The Bulls held the sale in an effort to raise vital funds needed for day-to-day running costs, and reduced goods to almost cost price.

Vikki Cameron, 39, from Wibsey, queued for two hours.

She said: “We’ve been waiting for two hours to get in.

“Some people have been coming out saying there isn’t a lot left. I’ve been sent down by my husband – we’re looking to buy anything, we’re here to support the club.”

Around 15 Bulls staff donated their time for free in the shop.

Supporters started queuing at around 8.30am.

Kristian Spear, 27, a Bulls employee, said: “People have been queuing for hours to get in, and at midday we’d pretty much sold half of the stock.”

Home shirts, polo shirts, shorts and socks were among some of the merchandise bulging in the carrier bags of the supporters.

Stephanie Seager, 24, from Wibsey, who managed to get into the shop after more than two hours standing in line, said: “It’s a sad, sad affair. We come regularly to games to support them.

“The Bulls is one of the good things about Bradford.”

David Atkinson, 66, travelled from Huddersfield to help the club. He said: “We’re here to support the Bulls – we don’t want to lose them.”

Fans are determined to do their part to keep their club from falling into administration, the deadline for which has now been pushed back until Friday July 27.

Keith Ingham, 52, from Keighley, said: “The amount of people who queued shows the support they have. People know if they put their hands in their pockets we might be able to save the club.”

Jackie Samuels, 34, from Huddersfield, said: “I’m here to support the club, I’m not bothered about paying any price.”
