Avenue fans will be able to buy the new home and away kits for the 2012-13 season from the club shop at Horsfall Stadium from next Saturday – before the pre-season friendly against Doncaster Rovers – priced at £35.

The home shirt is white, with a diagonal red, amber and black stripe, which represents the 150th anniversary of the original club from which Bradford Park Avenue came into existence in 1907.

Similar to last year, Bakes & Lord remain the main shirt sponsor.

The away shirt maintains the traditional green and white colours of Bradford Park Avenue. There is a new away shirt sponsor in 2Co Energy.

Chairman Dr John Dean said: "The new designs for next season are very impressive. Obviously, our new home kit is to mark the 150th anniversary of the original club but, at the same time, it is a modern representation."

Captain Rob O’Brien said: "The change makes people ask why? It raises further questions and interest in the history of the club.

"This club is a famous name within football and it is important to mark the 150th anniversary."

Looks very much like a rugby team shirt....not sure why though.

Possibly because Bradford Northern used the same colours and indeed the point of the 150 anniversary is the fact that originally the club was a rugby club.

As was that lot down at VP.
