Halifax Bowling Club is the venue for the ultimate challenge match next Friday.
The top two crown green players in the country will play the world No 1 indoor bowling champion and his partner to see who are the champions, flat or crown.
Gary Ellis is the No 1 crown green bowler in the country and will be partnered by local bowler Graeme Wilson, who is currently ranked No 2.
Their opposition from the flat green world will be world indoor champion Andy Thompson and experienced crown and flat green player Noel Burrows.
Ellis has been the Waterloo Autumn champion three times, Waterloo Spring champion, All England champion, Champion of Champions twice plus has over 100 tournament wins on the crown green circuit.
Wilson has represented Yorkshire County over 80 times and has won the All England twice, Champion of Champions three times, the Spring Waterloo, the Yorkshire Merit four times and won well over 100 tournaments in the crown green world.
Representing the world of flat green bowling, Thomson has won the world indoor title three times. He has represented England over 80 times outdoors and over 80 times indoors.
Burrows is one of the legends of crown green bowling. He has switched to the flat green game with a lot of success and has represented England on numerous occasions and also won the famous Superbowl, which is played between the cream of crown and flat green bowlers at the Granada Studios in Manchester.
The players will play crown green in the morning and indoor in the afternoon.
Practice for the crown green begins at 10.30am and the two singles games will commence at 11am.
After the crown green games there will be a forum and a lunch break when bowling enthusiasts can ask questions and chat to the players.
The afternoon session will move into Halifax’s Indoor Rinks when there will be two singles games of 11 ends.The first game will commence at 1.15pm.
