Brett Kearney bags four-try haul in Bradford Bulls victory

Bradford Bulls 44, London Broncos 12

Brett Kearney claimed a stunning four-try haul as the Bulls powered to victory over London Broncos ahead of this week's D-day.

The crisis-torn club must find a buyer by Tuesday to avert the looming threat of liquidation and the manner in which they put London to the sword cannot have failed to impress any potential buyers watching from the stands.

Manase Manuokafoa, Kearney and former London scrum half Luke Gale all scored in quick succession to put the Bulls 18-0 up and in total control after 18 minutes.

The Broncos replied through winger Kieran Dixon but further scores from Elliott Whitehead and Michael Platt sent Mick Potter's men in at the break with a commanding 26-4 lead.

Two minutes after the restart, Kearney grabbed his second in typically clinical fashion as some neat handling between Gale and Ben Jeffries saw him take a pass from the latter and diving over from close range.

Gale added his fourth goal from six attempts before the Broncos hit back through Dixon's second try in the 51st minute, yet Kearney soon completed his treble with another smart close-range finish.

And he was left to claim centre stage again in the 76th minute, supporting a break from Jamie Langley to power under the posts and Gale added his sixth conversion before Will Lovell struck a late consolation for London.

Best team one at a canter. A big shout to fans from other clubs who turned up today, Halifax, Cas, Leeds, Wire. As Catalan are playing tomorrow even they turned up which shows London up for what they are as i didn't see any opposition fans. London are kept going by a sugar daddy and bring nothing to super league. If it wasn't for the visiting supporters who go down to London to support their own club i doubt they would exist which would be great news for clubs in the division below whose fans would travel as I've witnessed in past years. I'm proud of every one at the club for the attitude they have shown this year especially of late through these difficult times. Credit to the season ticket holders who paid on the gate like i did, this is not a dig at those season ticket holders who used their passes as it's an an individual opinion. Bulls forever

Great today, great team effort.
Gargoyle interviewed after match (its on Youtube) says there is an interested consortium, fingers crossed.
Just a thought if Leeds fans think we won`t be missed if we go under why not Bulls fans boycott the next match at Headingley and not put money in their coffers (they don`t need us they say) but maybe the money can go to the new Bulls. If every fan who was going to go did that it could add up to a sizeable amount.

Bulls administrator Brendan Guilfoyle gives an update on the current Bradford situation.

During an interview with SLTV, Guilfoyle states that he is concerned by the messages the RFL are giving out because as it stands, he has yet to receive any offer to buy the troubled club, from any previously interested parties.

"We're a bit concerned about the messages the RFL seem to be putting out.

"The truth is we've had quite a lot of interest, but a lot of that interest has fallen away. We haven't had a single offer, ... We're talking to a consortium of local businessmen and they seem to be our front runner at the moment."

Currently the deadline for liquidation is Tuesday 10th July, but after a 10,000 strong crowd today at Odsal, where the Bulls smashed the London Broncos 44 - 12, Guildfoyle states that he might have "quite a lot of revenue" that may help him with player wages. He has a meeting with his partners on Tuesday to discuss if "its appropriate to continue to find a purchaser". So Tuesday's deadline could well be moved on if enough people paid at the gates today.

A consortium of local businessmen attended the game today and sat down with Guilfoyle and the leader of the Bradford council. The consortium were asking lots of questions about the club and seeking assurances if they were to make a purchase. They will meet again tomorrow to continue discussions.

Have just watched the Guilfoyle update and it to be fair to him, he seem a little bit more upbeat than the past few weeks.
It seems that Bradford Council have finally got out of the pond and started to work for the club and city. Hopefuly his guests either invest, or force the hand of other's to get cracking.

at least the SUGAR DADDY does his job and they are not going bust!!
crank.
why should we pay three times?
season ticket, pledge and today?
no thanks.
you must be better than those that dint pay today eh?
I'm obviously more articulate, I paid £75 for my season ticket, it cost me a paltry £20 so the answer to your stupid post is NO I'm not better than anyone, but obviously more gracious than you. (dint - In this context? which dictionary is the word in?)

Correctness - what a total misnomer! I'll correct you - The fans were passionate today because they are fans of the Bulls, fans of Rugby League and NOT simpleton freeloaders like you. Your opinions are worthless. You embarrass yourself chum!

Idiot comment above about boycoting the Leeds game ! I have been amazed & humbled by the the kindness & goodwill of a lot of Leeds fans along with many other Rugby League clubs supporters. Leeds have their idiots so do we so please stop talking out of your backside Mumby was the best ! One thing I have seen throughout all this unrest is just how much people care about our club in many circles not just the Bulls faithful.

My comment was tongue in cheek aimed at the trolls on here (shelf etc) who argued Leeds would not miss us. I passed comment yesterday on another post that don`t tar all Leeds fans with the same brush as stupid Shelf. Of course the majority of Leeds and other clubs fans are sympathetic to our plight.
