Brighouse Town boss Quinn relishes first pre-season platform
Brighouse Town boss Paul Quinn is looking forward to getting a pre-season under his belt almost a year after taking charge.
The club began last term under Mick Couzens but he walked away from the job less than a month into the season.
That led to Quinn, who was a player with neighbours Liversedge when his father Gerry was manager there, applying for his first managerial role.
He did well, leading the club to fourth place in the Baris NCE Premier Division.
Quinn said: “It was a decent finish but I think the club will benefit even more from the people coming into the club and everyone getting a good pre-season. We have a development side in the Lancashire League and have some new recruits pencilled in.
“There are no new signings as yet but I have been very pleased with the feedback I’ve had from the lads we have spoken to.
“The squad evolved during the last season and by December/January we were somewhere near where I wanted us to be. It was quite an achievement for the club reaching fourth spot and all of the lads have verbally agreed to come back.
“That is all I can ask of them because we don’t work on contracts at this level so we will see who sticks to their word.
“Some have had offers from elsewhere, not surprising after the season we had, but I want to keep them all together and push the club up the pyramid.”
