Bradford Dudley Hill thrash Stanley Rangers to remain top

Bradford Dudley Hill turned on the style in an emphatic 44-12 win over Stanley Rangers in National Conference Division One.

Hill currently share first place with Yorkshire rivals York Acorn at the midway point of the season.

Centre Craig Tyman soon got Hill on the scoreboard, taking a round-the-back pass from winger Gavin Mezals to crash over.

However, Hill were then rocked when Stanley centre Carl Lawson went airborne and touched down for a converted try.

Hill struck back when outstanding young forward Adam Jefferson powered over.

Midway through the half, Hill went further in front when Mezals rounded off a fine move to dive over out wide.

Minutes later the home side were in again when Mick Hill found Jamie Brentley with a neat ball and he gratefully accepted the chance.

Stanley fought back and winger Jordan Arthur was rewarded when he exploited a huge overlap to canter over the line.

Hill finished the half the stronger and stand-off Daniel Softley showed his strength when he held off two would-be tacklers to touch down.

They started off the second half as they had the first and it wasn’t long before Tyman crossed for his second, closely followed by Mezals’ second effort of the afternoon.

Hill were in full command and Lewis Evans capped a virtuoso display with a try just minutes later.

It was left to Alex Dickinson to round off a fine afternoon’s work when he collected a superb offload from Dave Dunwell to outpace several Stanley defenders to the line.
