Josh Jones scores hat-trick as Bradford Bulls are routed

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: John Bateman tries to create an opening against St Helens John Bateman tries to create an opening against St Helens

St Helens 54 Bulls 0

Mick Potter could only watch on in despair as the injury-crippled Bulls succumbed to their heaviest defeat of the season at St Helens tonight.

Minus full back Brett Kearney and around 10 other players due to injury, Potter's men were second-best throughout.

They were backing up just four days after Monday's home win over Castleford but they were never at the races at a rain-soaked Langtree Park.

Paul Wellens opened the scoring and Josh Jones (2), Jonny Lomax and Francis Meli all touched down to help Saints into a 28-0 interval lead.

The one-way traffic continued after the break as Wellens, Tommy Makinson, Lance Hohaia and Lomax again all struck before Jones completed his hat-trick.

One to forget in the bigger scheme of things. Two weeks to get the troops fit and well for the next game which is very winnable given Wakefield will be playing twice within the week. And, hopefully, more positive news on the financial side.

Lucky to beat castleford going on the second half performance and now a no show against st helens. Not even trained all week just rested. Definately showed tonight. Wats point getting in playoffs if can't defend or score points. Major investment needed now into bulls to compete

What a poor performance nightmare journey to watch that rubbish. Not interested was my view from the player poor excusses because we played Monday not good enough.

It was a bad day at the office but playing on a Monday then Friday does not give the players time to recover

Yes our defence was very poor but we need to get some of the injured players back .

There are players that need dropping from poor performances and player that have given there all over the last few months that need to recover

Not just players that need dropping but coaches too, starting with the completely pointless Lee St Hilaire, even when we scrape home against the worst team in the league we ship over 30 points and this showing against the saints !! Defensive coach ??? My a**e.

I wonder if they know something we don't and are thinking 'sod it, what's the point! '
