Some fans are bought over by smallest things. In their eyes we've already won promotion by Christmas on the back of this signing and it totally wipes out the memories of the last two years. I'm all for progression but some people seem to think voicing any opinion that anyone to do with BCFC doesn't walk on water makes you a not a true fan.
So Davies is a small signing? You just go to prove there are some idiots on here!
Oh dear, I guessed it would you who bite back first. Not ordering the open top bus for a promotion party next season on the back of signing Davies does not make me an idiot, it makes me a realist. I realise our team is far from good enough to maintain a promotion push next season in it's current state. The signing of Davies is the way forward and I hope this is complented with other similar signings to improve a team that has been battling relegation for the last few years. Now I know this is frustrating for you to hear but we aren't 1 man away from being a promotion chasing side, we have many problems to address, but this is a step in the right direction. So take the bunting down and reverse the open top bus back into the depo, theres alot of work still to do yet.
Its you who's mentioned the bus nobody else. Now I know this is frustrating for you to hear but no one said we were 1 man away but get this it's still a top signing one of the best in years so stop trying to put words in peoples mouth and get a life!
You really don't like it that people have differing opinions to you. You couldn't wait for the one win in a blue moon last season to mouth off, talk about the playoffs then see us lose the next 5 in a row. It may suprise you but I'm sick of the position we find ourselves in and hope we pull it together, but you won't hear me saying we've turned the corner after a minor success when the bigger picture still shows many things broken. Maybe you should take your tinted specs off, haven't you noticed the poor ticket sales this year? It suggests many others are unhappy with the plight this club finds it in too.
You absolute fool you have the wrong guy I never once mentioned the playoffs if I did show me the quote there you go wrong again!!
This website is dire for digging up old stuff so it's a little hard to prove but you have to admit you get carried away over the odd result here and there and completely ignore the bigger picture. You always make me laugh with your replies, you should try stand up.
We all support the same club, but we may have differing opinions, so why can't some supporter accept this and have a reasonable balanced arguement instead of slagging each other of(idiots, fools, moro ns and the rest) ????????????? Good signing and i do hope he has signed a pre contract agreement. However good he is thought to be the team wasn't weakened when Branston came back in at the season end - indeed it could be said he (Branston) was the main reason we were not even closer to the drop. Mark Lawn stated many times last year he wanted Davies as team captain for next season and he (ML) has made it happen, so he at least deserves credit for that.
Personally I think it works better with one big man and another one who is nippier. so although you can not knock branston. i think over all Davis in the team is a plus"

'A terrific first signing' for Bradford City as Andrew Davies returns

Phil Parkinson is hoping Andrew Davies’ signature will help to persuade more of his summer targets to come on board at Valley Parade Phil Parkinson is hoping Andrew Davies’ signature will help to persuade more of his summer targets to come on board at Valley Parade

Andrew Davies today kicked off City’s summer shopping with a bang after agreeing a one-year deal.

The former Premier League centre half was thought to be out of the club’s reach following his loan spell last season.

But Phil Parkinson has beaten off higher-division interest, led by Greg Abbott’s Carlisle, to snap up the 27-year-old.

Davies will sign officially on July 1 after his contract runs out at Stoke. But his capture is a huge coup for the Bantams and manager Parkinson.

He said: “Andrew’s a terrific first signing for us. He was one I really wanted to do.

“He has played at the highest level but has shown in his time on loan with us a great commitment. I like his hunger and his real desire to be successful.

He (Phil Parkinson) has told me what he is trying to do here and I’m enthusiastic about some of the other signings he hopes to make

“I had a good chat with him and he wants to come on board. He is a leader and has that mentality that we want to instill into this club.

“He sees this as a real challenge and wants to progress with us.”

Davies was a huge favourite with supporters during his loan. He made 30 appearances, scoring twice, although his season was blighted by three red cards.

He missed 12 games through suspension – five after the infamous post-match brawl with Crawley – before returning to the back four to shut out champions Swindon at Valley Parade on the final day.

Davies has had to take a significant pay cut from the £15,000 a week he was believed to be earning at the Britannia.

But he admitted his mind was made up by Parkinson and his ambitious plans.

“I’ve been really impressed by the manager,” he said. “He’s told me what he is trying to do here and I’m enthusiastic about some of the other signings he hopes to make.

“This is a massive club with fantastic supporters and I believe we’ve got a really good chance of going up next year.”

With only a week to the season-ticket deadline, City are confident the Davies announcement will spark a rush of sales.

He could also prove a persuasive factor in getting other Parkinson targets to follow suit.

Parkinson added: “Signing Andrew shows the quality of players we are looking to bring in.”
