Attock hit the ground running

After two weekends without fixtures, the expanding West Riding Sunday Council struck bat to ball with a vengeance.

Attock Sweet Centre led the way with a crushing win at AMCC by 167 runs.

League champions Manningham unsurprisingly passed Khan’s 105 all out by two runs but with five wickets in hand. Batting first, Azeems’ 148 was not enough to stop Kashmir at Crossflatts, with Mohammed Zahid scoring 61 out of his side’s 149 as they won with three wickets to spare.

Shaadi Cards’ ploy to put Euro Windows in first worked well, as they were all out for 186. Waseem Hussain’s 54 was quite enough as Shaadi hit 187-8.

Division Two produced the most surprises as new side Mr Fix It DIY opened their campaign with a big win. They hit 230, with Zaka Ullah 61 not out and Mohammed Adil 58. Mohammed Ibrahim then took 5-12 to put Shamms 11 through the ringer, who were all out for 107.

The shocks didn’t end there. Abid Lodhi, Indus Ghari’s captain, took six Diamond wickets for 40 runs to limit them to 127 all out as Indus Ghari won by five wickets.

Then new team Attock Tigers – who made 150 – skittled seasoned veterans Skipton Kashmir for 100.
