Ainscough and Whitehead score trebles in Bulls romp

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Hat-trick man Shaun Ainscough in action against Doncaster Hat-trick man Shaun Ainscough in action against Doncaster

Bradford Bulls 72 Doncaster 6

Shaun Ainscough and Elliott Whitehead both scored hat-tricks as the Bulls demolished Championship One part-timers Doncaster in the Carnegie Challenge Cup this afternoon.

Ainscough was deployed at full-back and capped a fine personal performance with three clinical scores, while Whitehead was similarly deadly from right centre.

Matt Diskin and Keith Lulia claimed two tries apiece, and there were further scores for Craig Kopczak, Ben Jeffries and John Bateman as Bradford booked their place in Monday's fifth-round draw.

Doncaster, missing playmaker Paul Cooke due to injury, stunned Odsal by taking a shock first-minute lead when prop Russ Spiers burrowed over from close range.

Former Bradford academy product Keiran Hyde added the conversion but the response from the Bulls could hardly have been more emphatic as their Super League class told.

Rookie Callum Windley showed some promising touches after coming off the bench in the first half before being replaced by Diskin shortly before the hour mark.

Nervous start by addy donny scored after 52 seconds with their only attack in the whole game. Another good atmosphere in the ground. Tough game next week against huddersfield but sure we'll give them a good game and gain another two points hopefully. Another big crowd aswell hopefully.

Crowd 3200 so where were all the so called loyal supporters?

The club is in financial trouble and really needed the fans to turn out in number to support the team & put well needed cash in the coffers

So where were you

I was ashamed to be in the ground & seeing acres of empty space I am glad we were not on TV as it would have been very embarrasing for the club

Seems to me that the people of Bradford are no that keen on supporting the club when it means putting their hands in their pockets

10,000 cut price season ticket holders of which only 2000 have pledged

says it all really

You should be ashamed to call yourself fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The performance of the boys on the pitch in front of such a poor turn out should be applauded.

A coupple of years back I doubt they would have bothered to compete the way they did for the full 80

Yesterday was a great advert for the spirit in the camp & how Potter has got everyone believing in each other & working for each other

They could have put the cue back in the rack & relaxed after half time but they didn't the pace & intensity never dropped & when they needed to they defended like there was only 1 point in the game

Great display lads keep it going for the rest of the season & play off footy will be back at Odsal

ainscough did ok but i don't think kearny needs to worry about his full back possition. a good run out for the lads but to be fair Donny weren't much by way of opposition so i wont get carried away by the score. good to see young callum have a run out, got stuck in on the tackling, thought there might have been a few others in there but i suppose there's always the chance of an upset with the young lads in cause donny tackled hard and high.
well done lads lets hope for a good cup run.

What a rant from Mines a Pint!

I belive you are missing the point in that fans are perhaps unwilling to give more cash across the turnstiles to fund the board's mis-handling of this whole situation.

For the record I am one of the fans who has made good on my pledge.

By the way, perhaps you may need to take writing lessons. Your grammar, punctuation and syntax are appalling
