    Same,same,
We concede to many set pieces and free kicks against us and dont defend properly.
Go a goal down and we start to play and look a threat going forward.
We lack real width in the squad when Reid isn't playing.
I don't care what anybody says jack compton was well worth a 2 year contract at cty , wingers are like gold dust (good ones anyway)
Superb second half effort against a side who haven't lost at home.
But when we learn to play 90 mins at a tempo , we will win more games at this level.
Promotion push next season , no chance!!!.
Major surgery is required to get us into the midtable positions.
Does the fact that your beloved Compton can't get in the St Johnstone team suggest that you might be wrong. Falkirk fans not sorry to see him go either
we don't know their circumstances though do we?

what we do know is that for OUR club he performed at a consistent level and created opportunities for our strikers. Has there been a more consistent crosser for us this season? I bet if you asked Hanson he was enjoying having Compton attempt old fashioned wing play and get to the bye-line. How long has he had the ball aimed at his head from straight on?

Compton wasn't 'all that' but was better than all the wide players since with the exception of Reid. Some will point out defensive lapses to his game but like Daley before him utilise the positives. When the opposition 'two-man' Reid whats the free man doing? reid and Fagan have both at times neglected their defensive duties but neither appear to have afforded the same scrutiny.

Like i say Compton may not have been has 'great' has some make him sound but he showed more than his replacements have thus it can be argued that the squad went backwards in this respect......
Don't know what your definition of 'more consistent crosser is' but I can tell you that Reid has 10 assist so far. What did Compton have dann?

Could I ask you why you think Jacko refused to sign Compton permanently? Are you claiming Compton turned down the offer of a contract from PP on the basis of the financial side not being enough? I was under the impression it was because he had offers of 18 months contracts from other Clubs (according to his contract). You are doing a lot of guesswork and making a lot of 'in your opinion' statements on this subject dann. If you feel so confident about what you are saying it would be nice to see some evidence to support your arguments/opinions.
    And what have you offered?

You make a big point that Compton turned down a contract but you don't the terms of the offer.

You now offer that Reid has made 10 assists but in how many games/minutes etc....stats can be misleading.

If you read my posts i don't understand the comparison to reid anyway, as i've indicated numerous times that i would have wanted BOTH of them and that COMPTONS replacements since have not been as good. Why not show THEIR STATS lonnie as it is THEM who i am comparing Compton too which my posts state. Atkinsons stats will be interesting as i think i've seen him only cross the ball once. And Haworth probably 'tinned' out of more tackles than made crosses. Yet you pointed out Comptons defensive lapses in one game which were your opnion by the way and also went against your usuall stance (which is to be applauded) of defending players. Why did you single him above others both at the time and definately since? Perhaps it was your opnion lonnie but that don't make it a fact.

I saw in Compton a player who when in possesion was prepared to attempt to get by their defenders and often did. He did have a tendency to sometimes over-hit the crosses but he also created some great chances. Don't know what his stats were but stats can be used to prove most things either for or against. Thats why i sue my opinion. doen't mean its right but neither does your stat, even if you were comparing two players that i wasn't. I even suggested playing Compton on the right as i also feel that reid is a good player and parky's better quality of signing. Why not have both? The signings since out wide have all been a step backwards and you could suggest the FACT that Parky himself is still prepared to play forwards and a midfeilder out of position instead suggests that he feels this way too. Even Parky played Compton occasionally......."

Shrewsbury 1 City 0

City could not make it an Easter double as they became the latest victims of Shrewsbury's unbeaten home record.

Having beaten Southend on Good Friday, Phil Parkinson's side were looking to shock another of the promotion pack.

But there was no repeat of their New Year's Eve victory as they suffered a sixth straight defeat on the road.

Having started fairly brightly, City were undone by Shrewsbury's third corner in the 16th minute.

They could not clear an almighty scramble in the box and right back Jermaine Grandison scored from close range.

Mark Wright was instantly denied a second by a good save from Matt Duke and the winger was just wide with a curler.

City were under the cosh with Grandison a real danger on Shrewsbury's right flank.

But Craig Fagan wasted a great chance to equalise after 27 minutes, volleying wide from right in front of goal after James Hanson had nodded the ball in this path.

Parkinson had named an unchanged starting line-up. But Kyel Reid and Chris Dagnall both came on for the second half.

Fagan had an early half-volley saved by Chris Neal as City were more of a match for their high-flying hosts.

Matt Duke tipped over a free-kick from Matt Richards but had one or two indecisive moments.

Reid threatened a couple of times but City could not find an equaliser.
