Banned Bradford City trio can still play key role (From Bradford Telegraph and Argus)

If the trio who come in for the banned trio play well and we get some points to make us safe, why bring them back let them suffer I would say!!

Parkinson's management skills will be tested to the full in this run in.
Branston is obviously not in parkinsons long term thoughts at bradford.
Branno is a solid pro who will not let anybody down , should he be thrust into action.
For me the Plymouth game is do not loose game.
As soon as bradford are safe from the drop.
Serious questions have to be asked as to what really is the isssue as to why any manager coming in can not get US into a top half lge 2 finish????.
Me I think there's issues behind the scenes at bradford.

I think the squad as individual players are good enough for a serious promotion push in leaguen 1 or holding their own in the championship.

I would find it difficult to point out any individuals that have had an awful season nor that of a fantastic one.

If players were sent out to do what they are good at and play to individual strengths, winning would breed confidence and a very very succesful team in this league.

I blame 1 man for our awful season but I am hoping he has realised the best form of defence is not to be very very rigid and defensive.

Some say he didnt have a pre-season and next year will be the big firework display. Well who am I or any of us to say their opinion is wrong.

I am confident we will survive if Parkie has turned that little corner and lets hope people like Gspot are right about this massive pre-season.

We need to find out who this man is Shaun, he seems to have the inside knowledge, the mysterious friend in the next seat... Problems are on the pitch, end of! Not enough goals scored, far too many conceced, hence you lose football matches, it's really quite simple

I see your point of view too, but we can't just keep blaming the board. The players have to take responsibility for the results too. They have not been anywhere near good enough. You are right about the club being in turmoil, it's laughable, and so is ML, but it's player performance that gets points, and league table says we don't have many. It's a sad state of affairs

Yes, if a person who has committed a 'crime' has served his/her sentence (whether football 'crime' or in the wider world) they SHOULD be allowed to 'move on' and start afresh with a clean 'slate.'

However, the problem is..the 'sentence' for those three players (and the Crawley Players too) has NOT been ..FINALISED!!

Yes, the 'three' have been given immediate bans of Davies-5/McLoughlin-
3/Oliver 3. But...is that the end of it?

The chances are a further punishment is going to be following...in its slipstream which 'could' be worse for those three but, more worringly for Bradford City itself.

Chairman could take a bk seat keep his money invested in the club and bring in a managing directer who's got experiance running a football club and chairman lawn can go back to watching the games as a,supporter.

I THINK i must have taken a punch myself the other night, I thought that there was only two home games but obviously there are three. My sentiments remain the same though not that that matters either. Who ever steps in to help us out in our time of need, has to really be made aware of our gratitude. They will do their best and we as supporters can do our bit to ensure that. As supporters we may have agreed with their exclusion but I suggest put our feelings to one side and support and lift a man that you otherwise would not have selected. If branston or duke get the call I believe that they will be really,professional even though they were not part of the current managers plans. I feel that we have the squad that can keep us up I just hope, it's managed right.

There is certainly something very wrong somewhere, whether it is the manager, the players or a combination is debatable. The players Parkinson has brought in have played at a higher level, on paper they are better than any other team in the division have. They are not playing to their potential so if thats their fault or the managers it needs sorting and quickly, I suspect a combination of both. We have seen in patches what they can do we just need the right system and players in their correct positions

Fatbloke.....I am sorry to disgree with your statement that our players are good enough for a serious promotion push in league one, or even hold their own in the championship. They should be in the top half of league 2 and maybe challenging for play-offs, but can you seriously say that our squad is comparable in quality to those of Charlton, Sheff. United, Wednesday, Huddersfield, MK Don's or even Carlisle? I would swap any one of those six squad's for ours, wouldn't you?

Managers resignations and a back-scene one too....

a huge amount of cheap option loans been used.....

nearly 40 players year on year....

Parky hasn't helped himself but was he TOLD to get rid of certain players and then despite the nearly 40 used the reality is a lesser amount. There does appear to have been players frozen out since Parkys appoinment and this fits in with Lawn's comment/view......

Disagrement is fine Tiny and you make very valid points.

Players like Davies, Jones, Reid, Fagan and Dagnall are (in my opinion) good enough to be pushing on much higer.

Then we have Syers & Williams who (in my opinion) have the potential/ability to also do the same.

Oliver - is a very effective centre half with the right partner.

Hanson - been linked with higher league teams.

Ravenhill - has proven it but getting on a bit

We have also had Moore, Devitt and probably others I cant think of..

All the above is enough to suggest Mr Parkinson has under achieved.

In Parkies defence politics in football are bigger then ever so are his hands tied? (Doesnt mean he has to have a negative approach though)

Don't worry there is no precedent for a points deduction. A hefty fine, part suspended is most likely.

Unfortunately, it also means that there's no moaning the FA about decisions etc in the future.

I'm not sure why there would be anyone suggesting a fireworks display for next season (if we stay up) there is nothing to base this on. Ive said it before, but despite PP having nearly a whole season to mould a team we are no further forward and there doesnt seem to be any sort of forward plan in place. Development squads gone,no one of note coming through, We just seem to have been "winging it" (well not on the right) for most of the season with loan signings, players in the squad out the next,tactics, team selections different week by week and now we could pay a heavy price. I can only really put this down to PP, his management in so many areas has been poor. Have his hands being tied? I'm not sure, he seems to have had free reign to bring in a whole cast of players, ML can't be criticised for not giving the backing can he?.

You mention Davies, Jones, Reid, Fagan and Dagnall capable of playing at a higher level, well out of them theres only Jones (who is mostly out of favour) and Reid who will be here next season, as it is at the moment. Of the rest you mention there is only Williams, Ravenhill and Hanson with us. Hanson has been linked with higher teams apparently..I only know of maybe Motherwell. He's got better as the seasons gone on but as a minimum for a CF he needs to be getting 15 goals which hopefully he will do,if he took more chances that came his way he could be on 20+ by now and then there may be some justification with links to higher teams.

I just hope we can stumble through the next few matches and stop up, with yet another re-think for next season.

When I say his hands have been tied, I do not mean he has not had the backing of the chairmen. I mean after every victory in the last few months there have been strange decisons in relation to team selection. Football is very political these days and I think when the club feel safe/safer (after picking up 3 points) they pick a team which will accumalate the lowest weekly wage bill (avoid appearance fees).

That might also answer your comment re Jones being out of favour.

So I am not criticising Mark Lawn.

You disgard Williams as a player we have capable of playing at a higher level as being 'one of ours' well he is and if he isn't that is either a decision taken by Parkie or a political one, so therefore I feel I can include him in my theory of just how good we should be (or are on paper).

Don't cry buddy, the fat lady is on stage but she ain't singing yet! And as for the 'rejects' as you so lovingly call them, they are a necessity, not a choice, but as mentioned before, we have to support whoever dons the Claret and Amber. With an attitude like that, we're already down...

Sorry fatbloke my last post wasn't all aimed at yours if it gave that impression, not sure who's on what as far as appearance fees goes so can't comment too much on that...seems a strange way to go about doing things in our perilous position, whether we won the previous game or not. Can't imagine it would go down to well with player concerned either (would he put in the effort if he knows he's going to be dropped next match?)

Wasn't meaning to give the impression I had disgarded Williams as one of ours, but whether he can play at a higher level is open to question for me,he came from non league football so is totally untried at higher levels than what we are at. He does occasionally look very good but other times not so and his attitude comes over a bit wrong sometimes. Hopefully Terry Butcher may be teaching him a few things.

At least at the end of the season the deadwood will be gone and perhaps we can re-sign some of the better ones (Syers etc) if they are in favour with PP of course. I am sure nobody will be signing a contract with BCFC anymore based on appearance fee's if your theory is correct!

To all you that are slating me for my last post ...read it again....my reference to Galloway being friends with muslim leaders is ..as I posted ...that he would get the votes of the immigrants...NOTHING racist in my post.....look at yourself....at the way your minds are working.
Knight Mccall.....I know Bradford is made up of immigrants....I was born in St Lukes and I lived in Bradford for the first 27 years of my life.

Cookie, I didn't mention your parents, or grandparents, that was another poster. I did mention that I thought your post was a little out of order, but you have put me straight, and that's the end of it for me

I personally feel we will get the 3 points....because of the trouble on tuesday...the players coming in will play well...I can see Dukey keeping a clean sheet (hope im right ) Branston and ramsden will play well......I feel more positive now than I did 2 weeks ago.......onwards and upwards.....ctid

Well, I can't say i'm as positive as you, but i'm trying to be. Branston for me will struggle tomorrow, I've got no problem with Duke taking over in goal though, he's decent enough, will be good to see Rambo back... UP THE BANTAMS!!!

but isn't the directive NOT to play players due to appearance fee's directly a board decision?

Jones is definately something more than just a decision based on his performances surely?

Branston played well (and scored with a bullet header ) in the recent game behind closed doors at Leeds recently and although slow to turn he does play with passion.Duke has by all accounts found his form at Northampton and their manager is gutted that he has been recalledby us.
I feel we will do ok tomorrow.

I just hope we don't play for a 0-0 today, as it's a tactic that just hasn't worked against the teams in the lower half.

Let's go out for the win, but if we can't manage that, then a point would be a pretty good result considering the week we've had.

It's about time we got that bit of luck and won one of these tight games, as too many have gone against us this season.

Crawleys bad boys have apologised to the fans and club wheres our apologies? I think some of these players could learn from the down syndrome kid who showed more passion in the half time game and he kissed the badge which sent the Kop wild more passion and we may start winning some games.
