Bradford Dudley Hill return to National Conference action against Oldham St Anne’s at Parry Lane on Saturday still basking in the plaudits following last week’s Carnegie Challenge Cup performance against Keighley Cougars.

Hill, who have made an unbeaten start to their Division One promotion campaign, face a Saints side who have yet to get off the mark and add Bolu Fagboran to what will be a strong squad.

Captain Lewis Evans reflected the confidence now present in the camp, saying: “It’s back to the bread and butter now.

“Last week’s second-half display gave us an indication of the level of performance we are capable of. We just need to make sure we prepare in the same way and put a professional performance in against St Anne’s to secure the two points.”

West Bowling can resuscitate their bid to escape Pennine League relegation if they overcome Queensbury in the Premier Division local derby at Bankfoot Oval.

With basement side St Joseph’s already through the trapdoor, Bowling must win in order to keep pace with the bottom pack.

They posted a clear-cut 28-6 win in the away fixture but Queensbury gained ample revenge with a solid success in the BARLA National Cup.

The visitors have made a vast improvement in the second half of the season and welcome Sam Poole back into a squad firing on all cylinders.

Queensbury’s second string, who are top of Division Five, host unbeaten Division Six table-toppers Hanging Heaton in the Pennine Supplementary Cup semi-finals.

Division One leaders Bank Top Harriers, who have completed their fixtures, will be hoping that Birkenshaw take the spoils at home to third-placed Crigglestone All Blacks. A Birky success will virtually ensure promotion for the Harriers.

In Division Two, old rivals West Bowling A and Wyke clash at Emsleys Rec.

Bowling are in dire straits propping up the table, while the Black and Whites will be safe if they return with the points.

But the stats will count for little as they lock horns hoping to improve on the 18-18 reverse-fixture draw at the start of the season.
