BRADFORD PALS AC

Our next match is on Sunday at Brafferton (Ghost Lake) and we have the whole lake. This is also the first round of the new annual knockout so please remember your entry fee.

The café opens at 7.30am and the draw will be at 9am. Don’t forget that your Environment Agency Rod & Line License expires on March 31 and needs to be renewed for the new season. We will expect all members to produce one for our match at Woodlands on April 15. It is illegal to fish without one.

BRADFORD No1 AA

The trout season on rivers opens on Sunday and members are reminded that the only baits permitted until June 16 are fly, minnow, worm and artificial lure. The River Calder could be worth a visit for trout using the permitted baits. Shelf Dam is worth a visit for bream on pole or feeder tactics. Raskelf Lake is fishing well for nets of roach and ide on maggot.

LISTERHILLS AA

Thanks are extended to the members who attended last week’s working party at Pilley’s Dam. Work included a clean up, widening of the road down to the dam and weed removal. Over the last couple of weeks carp are being caught in increasing numbers. The next members’ match on this venue is on Sunday, April 1. Members are reminded that the Environment Agency licence expires on March 31 and must be renewed before going fishing after that date. These are available from the post office. All anglers over 12 years require one by law. There are various concessions available.

HEWENDEN AC

This Sunday is the last pike match of the year, with a 9am draw in the car park, £10 all in on the morning. All members welcome. The annual meeting will be held at The Star pub in Bingley on Tuesday, starting at 8pm. There will be a pie and peas supper. The lake is fishing well at the moment, with good bags of roach and lots of pike.

BINGLEY AC

Fishing for trout on rivers opens on Sunday, with fly or worm the only permitted baits. The canal at Crossflatts continues to fish well for small roach and skimmers. The odd tench starting to be caught at Coppice pond.

Idle & THACKLEY AA

There will be a special general meeting to consider some changes to the club’s rules on Monday, April 2 at Idle WMC, at 9pm. If any members want to attend they are invited and if anyone would like detailed information they should contact the secretary.
