The Bradford League Division Four title will definitely be won by Hermits this season as the club currently fill the top three positions.

Hermits C lead the way with five games to play and have a 15-point advantage following their victory over second-placed Hermits F.

The latter needed a victory to close the gap between the two teams but, despite an unbeaten performance from Malcolm Fowler, it was a solid effort from Paul McKreith, Steve Mills and Tom Sampson which carried Hermits C to a 6-4 victory.

In Division Five, the same club are also in charge of the destination of the title, with runaway leaders Hermits H still unbeaten and just one win away from securing the championship.

They were, however, held to only their second draw of the season at promotion-chasing Unity E.

Hermits looked on course for yet another victory when they opened up a 4-1 lead but Unity were inspired by Mark Tattersfield, who led the fightback with three singles wins. Hughie Cham-bers added one and the pair combined to win the doubles, leaving Unity in third place and in contention with Hermits I for the second promotion place.

The Bradford Closed Championships take place on Sunday, March 25 at Keighley TTC. Entries should be sent to Rod Hullah by Sunday.
