James Hanson set to miss whole of March

James Hanson, left, has torn his adductor muscle James Hanson, left, has torn his adductor muscle

James Hanson is likely to miss the whole of City's manic March after a scan confirmed a tear in his adductor muscle.

The striker could be sidelined for up to six weeks, which would rule him out of the hectic schedule coming up, although the club hope he might return in four.

Hanson suffered the groin injury just 14 minutes into the Bantams' 1-1 draw with Port Vale on Tuesday.

interesting, not long ago he was called a rubbish striker on here.
lets see now he's out for a month.
tuesday's game after he went off shows how important he has become because we looked lost without him.
parky has no plan b so he stuck davies up front!
commence hypocritical comments!!!!

Gutted, one of only a handful of players that puts in 110% every game. He'll be missed

Parky does have a plan B...Deane Smalley, This is the exact situation he said he brought Smalley in for, as well as to offer competition to Hanson when he is fit?.

I don't think anybody has called Hanson a rubbish striker, certain posters including me have commented on certain aspects to his game he could improve on, and over the last few of months he has looked a slightly better player, especially since he got dropped and perhaps had a bit of a kick up the backside. He also seems to have an able runner and foil in Wells since then too which has helped.

Whether Smalley will be good enough to fill the role is another matter, some of PP's recent signings have not been up to the mark, but he needs plenty of support and encouragement to do so, as I expect PP to give him a go since this is the situation he was brought in for.

what an absolute load of tosh!
hansen as been criticised plenty of times on here and how does putting smalley in and pumping it up to him costitute a plan b?
i am going to try find some comments and paste them later.

same old story, one dimensional and we lacked passion, movement, leadership. looked unfit and clueless.
although left and rightback were slow to get forward, it wasn't the defences fault. our midfield were bystanders. Flynn and Jones did not get from box to box at all and Reid was very very poor. maybe, he had a bad day but should have been subs straight away. we were obviously beening out played from the off, so wht wait until we are behind before you change things? I am sorry but Hanson is not good enough to be a professional footballer. Devitt has tallent but no pace or aggression.
lets hope Fagen gets fill very quickly.

there you go, and if you check earlier in the season there was a main headline from hanson saying i will beat the boo boys.
typical city fans, clueless.

What part of my post is tosh?

PP's reason for bringing in Deane Smalley in was as cover for Hanson getting injured and to offer some competition from a similar target man type of striker...these were PP's words.

So what then happens...Hanson gets injured....So PP has to revert to his plan B....play Dean Smalley...for all the reasons said above.....Can you tell me if that is not plan B what it actually is? credit where its due to PP for having the foresight to see potential problems if Hanson got injured....and bringing in a plan B!

I also said I didnt think I had seen anybody saying that Hanson was a "rubbish striker" as you put it. Despite you having nothing better to do than dig up old posts I still cant see anyone calling him rubbish.

I also said I, along with other posters such as Waynus, Gspot had criticised Hanson but in a constructive way, and was a well debated subject...Since then Hanson got dropped and has come back a slightly better player, playing alongside Wells that seems to suit him a bit better.

I'm not sure if you misunderstood my first post, maybe you might see where I'm coming from now?

victor clayton clearly states he is not good enough to be a professional player?
how is that not saying he is rubbish?
clearly you do not know what plan b means because swapping hanson for smalley is not.
its the same game plan!
plan b would to be to change tactics and maybe try passing ball around instead of usual lump it to centre forward to knock down!
how can you criticise some one in a constructive way?
forget it, you obviously don't have a clue.

He's not saying he's rubbish, he's saying he doesnt think he's good enough to be a professional footballer.

Buying Smalley in case Hanson gets injured, is a plan B, it happened as Hanson has got injured so we will be using Smalley as he is the plan if Hanson gets injured.

Criticising someone in a constructive way is known as "constructive criticism"

I really can't make it any simpler for you.

Have I missed something yangyeight? when did JH turn into a prolific striker? he missed a good chance saturday. please tell me what aspects of his game makes you say i am wrong or have made me change my mind? BWT i am not against the lad. i, like every other city fan hoped he would improve on his first season

He has improved on his first season victor, he has improved throughout this season if you take his all round play into consideration and his goalscoring record cannot be counted against him as no other city striker has been prolific since deano. He will be a big hole in our side until he returns and city will suffer because of it.

I notice no-one has mentioned how he injured his abductor, chasing a poor ball forward and earning us a corner. A few weeks ago Stewart was hailed as maradonna for doing the same.

Hurry back James but not too soon you're at risk, we WILL need your imput for those last 6 games.

A big blow; you only had to see how much we struggled after he went off against Vale, and typically it's in a period where the games are coming thick and fast.

Fagan and Wells up front for me today, as Smalley didn't win many headers or hold the ball up particularly well Tuesday.

If preferably Syers or even Flynn are fit, I would partner one of them with Ravenhill, and shift Jones right side to offer us a bit more protection.

With the comment about Torquay being good from set pieces, I think Fry will keep his place due to his height, and to be fair I thought he did quite well midweek.
