Bradford City game at Wimbledon postponed

Bradford City's npower League Two game at Wimbledon tomorrow has been called off because of a frozen pitch.

Overnight snow hit the local area, although the pitch was under cover.

Temperatures were expected to drop to minus four in London tonight, hence AFC Wimbledon calling in a local official to inspect the pitch this afternoon.

Two weeks without a game cos of the weather. Thought teams had underground heating these days or is recession stopping them using it. Good to not see repeat of last week where crawley fans came all way up to see it had been postponed. Least city fans don't have to travel to london now unless ya fancy a weekend there lol

t wasn't just the Crawley fans who had a wasted journey, Liam.

We'd got up as far as Chesterfield - over 5 hours in the car for nothing!

Not all City fans have the privilege of living in West Yorkshire!

Underground heating in the fourth division - since when?

I agree James, if Kingston's like the ground here in St Albans, at the moment, surely they could play on that??

Thinks people on here and Facebook who moan because they bought their train tickets in advance are daft. Why not just buy them on the train itself like everyone else does? That's why there's a conductor on the trains walking around with a ticket machine

This is really annoying as I'm sat at work in Wimbledon and the snow has melted and its not that cold as the sun is out.

Feel sorry for the city fans who have bought train tickets down.

I'm working in Regent's street. I can tell you, as I've just come back from lunch, it's fecking freezing outside. With that an d more snow last night around here it is not suprising it has been called off. Shame though. I was looking forward to watching the match.

Maybe because you can buy a train ticket in advance for £13 - £25 one way or you can buy a return on the train for over a £100 on the day!

As predicted by myself a few days ago:game off.

It was frozen solid, more frost plus snow guaranteed it would be off

Postponed due to tonight being minus 5 degrees so pitch may melt now but it'll be hard tomorrow

Forgive me my old "better in the old days" attitude- BUT. all clubs used to run football specials in conjuction with the rail company(s) a membership scheme was in place and although some did seem little more than 3rd class, the supporters did actually get from one end of the country to the other without losing too much brass (refundable. minus deposit)if match called off early enough. and the first time i used the city express was 23/2/60 YES ! you have guessed correctly, Burnley in the F.A.Cup replay. 30,000 left Bradford although not may i add all on the train but it was great apart from the result.

What do we expect from Northern Rail when it's run by amoral Aussies.

Our public infrastructures are a farce.
