Albion Sports’ Northern Counties East League home game against Shirebrook Town tonight has been postponed because of a frozen pitch at Horsfall Stadium.
The decision had been expected due to the sub-zero temperatures but it is still a blow to Albion in their chase for promotion.
The non-league newcomers were top of Division One when they last played a league game – on Boxing Day last year – but they have since dropped to fifth.
Albion boss Kulwinder Sandhu said: “It is not just now that concerns us because this will have a knock-on effect.
“It is going to be virtually impossible to get all our remaining games in before the end of the season.”
