February may only just have started but Bradford Park Avenue Eagles are a mere point away from securing the Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League Under-11 A Division title.

They maintained their 100 per cent record by defeating Bradford Park Avenue Hawks 9-1 on the artificial grass at GOALS Bradford.

It took until midway through the first half for Eisa Faulding to put the Eagles ahead, and it was only 2-0 at the break thanks to a Josh Barrett Strike.

However, better defending and passing made the difference in the second half with goals from man of the match Liam Brook (5), who moved from defence into midfield, Tyler Rhodes and Barrett. Jake Taylor got the Hawks’ consolation.

Avenue under-13s drew 2-2 with Thackley Thunder but should really have won in a superb game.

Mohammed Saqib and an own goal put Avenue 2-0 ahead, only for Thackley to convert a penalty before half-time.

Stand-in keeper Oliver Raistrick earned his corn for Avenue in the second half but was beaten after a goalmouth scramble in the last five minutes.

Avenue under-14s played their first fixture for two months but defeated previously unbeaten leaders Nab Wod Eagles 3-2.

Nab Wood took the lead but Avenue were soon on equal terms when man of the match Michael Chalmers headed home a Tom Bentham corner, and debutant striker Nathan Greenough put Avenue 2-1 ahead.

Macaulay Bayliss then gave Avenue breathing space with a third but Nab Wood replied and almost equalised, only for Landon Smith to clear off the line.

Cleckheaton under-eights were keen to sign up a collie dog, who ran on to the pitch during their 15-1 defeat at Wyke Wanderers A in the RCD Huddersfield Junior League.

Goals came from Jack Leach (6), the hard-working Reece Clay (4), man of the match Jacob Smith (3), Ellis Farrar and Stan Cahill, Cleckheaton’s goal being a superb free-kick.

Wyke won the B team clash 2-1, Alfie Cartwright and man of the match Sam Kershaw netting.

It was cold at Lepton Highlanders for Wanderers’ under-11 Division One match, the hosts scoring twice in the second half to win 4-2.

Dylan Silson and Nathan Young-husband were on target for Wyke, whose man of the match was Ryan Clay.

Wibsey Lions A under-tens went down 3-1 at Division One leaders Drighlington A but it would have been worse were it not for Jack Hewitt-Hill’s tremendous display in goal.

Trailing 2-0, Jacob McLoughlin’s nifty turn and shot halved the deficit for Wibsey but Ben Kerwick only kneed the ball onto the bar in the second half when it looked easier to head an equaliser. Drig then bagged a third.

The B team clash ended with the same 3-1 scoreline, although this time Drig went 3-0 up inside ten minutes.

McLoughlin scored the consolation for Wibsey, for whom Eli Fielding-Bell ran his heart out.

East Bowling Allstars under-13s were denied a victory when leaders Upperthong made it 4-4 with the last kick of the match.

Jordan Hobson twice put the Allstars ahead, only for Upperthong to equalise, but two Ryan Pogson goals gave East Bowling a 4-3 lead in the second half.

A brace from Sohail Mahmood was instrumental in giving Albion Sports under-eights a 3-1 Keybury League victory at Dudley Hill.

Albion had taken the lead with a thunderous free-kick from Joshran Singh Hayer before Hill equalised from the spot. Jayvir Panesar was Albion’s driving force and man of the match.

Ethan Hudson Parker was outstanding as leaders Shipley Tigers won 9-0 at Keighley Shamrocks.

He scored three, other goals coming from Will Patterson (2), Sam Collett, Harris Dobson, Sam Wilkinson and Jacob Green. Man of the match was William Austin.

Albion Sports under-nines were dominant from start to finish in defeating My BD5 10-0.

Man of the match Bailey Breaks fired Albion into the lead midway through the first half but Brandon McDonagh added a quick-fire hat-trick.

In the second half, McDonagh scored his fourth before being switched to a defensive role.

Breaks netted three more to match McDonagh’s feat, and Ben Robinson and McKenzie Williams-Lee completed the scoring for the hosts, for whom Reece Oxford and Roshan Singh also played well. Scholemoor Juniors under-nines made it five games without defeat with a 1-1 draw against Guiseley Yellow in the Black Division.

Jordan Harrison’s volley into the top corner looked set to take the points for Scholemoor, only for the Yellows to equalise in the last minute.

Avenue Raptors under-nines’ unbeaten run came to an end with a 3-0 defeat against Eldwick.

An own goal gave Eldwick a start and they added two more goals after the break, but only last-ditch defending denied Avenue’s Billy-Lee Firth, James Hebb and Kamal Azhar.

Avenue Scorpions under-tens overcame their long winter break and early-morning frost to win 1-0 at tough opponents Calverley.

In-form defenders Thomas Marshall and Frankie Brimacombe de-nied the hosts early on but Avenue ended the half on top, although Calverley’s keeper was outstanding when the visitors forced five corners.

Substitute Hamas Khan made a difference in his brief appearance in the second half before Scorpions had a goal disallowed from captain Ali Arshad for handball.

However, Avenue did not let this setback get them down, debutant substitute Simranjeet Singh making some good tackles in midfield.

Man of the match Marshall was keeping the back door shut but, with the game heading for a draw, he won a free-kick 20 yards out after venturing upfield, which was powerfully despatched by Regan Davidson.

Avenue Lizards played their first game since mid-November with a side ravaged by sickness – but it didn’t stop them hitting a post and the bar three times in the first minute!

Dominic Corps opened the scoring after two minutes, and Haseeb Alam soon made it 2-0 against Calverley.

Lewis Melvin’s shot bounced off the bar and was deflected in by a defender before Corps netted again.

Jack Wright began the scoring in the second half, Alex Gibson and Melvin (2) completing it. Joint men of the match were Dylan Newsholme and Lewis Moorhouse.

Albion Sports Lions under-tens won a thriller 4-3 at home to well-organised Burley Rockets. Skipper Jacob McNulty put the Lions ahead, only for Rockets to go 2-1 in front.

Striker Kyle Murtagh levelled just before the break, Asad Ali and Murtagh making it 4-2 in the second half.

Rockets’ third was a penalty but Albion’s goalkeeper and man of the match Sami Mahmood made some great saves to earn Albion victory.

Albion Sports Tigers defeated Burley Jets 8-0, Joseph Oates (3), Mosin Rayat (2), Zain Hussain (2) and man of the match Ranjit Singh netting in Tigers’ first match since early December. Defenders Ravindar Singh Hayer and Mohammed Ali also played well.

Bradford Tigers under-tens should have been facing Oakworth on an artificial pitch but swapped to their own pitch so they could play for 40 minutes – ten minutes longer – on grass.

However, they couldn’t make home advantage count and lost 4-1, despite playing decent football.

Tigers had most of the possession in the first half but went 2-0 behind when they played themselves into trouble, in-stead of clearing the ball.

The hosts improved markedly after half-time and had two chances to equalise but both went begging before Oakworth got a third with a superb shot.

Charlie Firth’s solo goal gave Tigers some hope, only for Oak-worth to score again, leaving Tigers to digest the facts that they need to keep it simple and use their pace.

Joel Etienne bagged a hat-trick for Queensbury Cougars under-tens as Pudsey Devils were beaten 6-1, James Young, Charlie Lockwood and an own goal competing the tally.

Queensbury Colts defeated Pudsey Demons 5-0 with goals from Sam Hainsworth (2), Alex Donlan (2, including a penalty) and an own goal.
