Seip signs Bradford City deal

Marcel Seip Marcel Seip

Marcel Seip this afternoon signed a new deal with City, keeping him at Valley Parade for the rest of the season.

The versatile Dutch defender had been on a three-month contract, which was due to run out on Saturday, and Phil Parkinson was delighted to get his future sorted.

Parkinson said: "Marcel has been terrific for us since arriving here.

"We've asked him to play in a number of positions and he has just got on with it and never moaned.

"That shows what a great professional he is."

Seip has played 17 games and scored his first City goal in the 2-2 draw against Morecambe.

Pleased to hear that Seip has signed another deal, to stay at the club until the end of the season. However, I would have liked to have read that he had signed a longer deal (similar to Ravenhill). We are most likely going to be without Andrew Davies for next season and so it would be nice to know that we would at least have Seip commited.
.
On another story, I have just heard that Jack Compton has signed for Scottish Premier side St Johnston. The disappointing angle is that the deal is a loan one. I thought he didn't want to stay at Bradford because he had permanent deals on the table? If so, why did he turn down another loan move at City for a loan to St Johnston? Shame really as being only 23 years old, he has so much potential and I could really see him developing into another John Hendrie.
.
Good luck Jack. Hopefully it will stop the constant postings on here about his replacements and PPs mistake not to sign him..!

Agree Waynus1971, rather strange that JC would go on loan again after all he is reported to have said. Saw it on sky this afternoon about him, but wish him well

Excellent news about Seip, hope he signs a longer deal at the end of the season.

As for Compton well it just shows that perhaps him not staying had more to do with him rather than anything Parkinson has done.

Again the truth re the Messiah Compton outs. He's just tweeted that he didn't stay at City because "as soon as Reid back I'd be on the bench".

So he had no Betty Swollocks to fight for his place. End of.

Took a loan deal with another club and not City. Wasn't that bothered then was he? End of.

Can we stop rattling on abut him every week on here now please?

If all the posters re Compton looked at the "One F in Falkirk" The Falkirk Fanzine site under merged Compton threads ( 117 replies ! ) i am sure they would understand why things have turned out as they have - go on, have a good read!

keep him and davies as centre backs:mitchell tight back with stewart in front of him.

threllfall left back
ravenhill jones and fagan

hanson and wells

that looks a strong enough team to me

Glad Marcel has signed to end of season. Lets hope we can at least make the play offs and get promoted then he may want to stay. Waynus you will always get rumours and things written on here about past players your one of the main culprits of spreading them remember the Hanson out on the P**s one. I for one was disappointed that we didn't keep Ellison but that is history move on.

Seip...glad its only until end of season.

Most people seem to love any new players,I don't. Seip,Fagan,Flynn,Thr
elfall,Duke,Branston need to go at end of season.

The rest I didn't mention need to be given 2-3 year contracts to build.Davies and Oliver are definate contract extensions needed at end of season.
