Bradford Dragons women made it three wins from three in the England Basketball Women’s National Founders Cup by triumphing 69-42 against Huddersfield Heat at Rishworth.
Dragons coach Mark Gunn gave Dana Kima a start for Dragons and she got a steal and scored two baskets in the first minute.
Dragons’ pressure built them a ten-point lead in the first three minutes, causing Huddersfield Heat coach Eduardo Perez to call a time-out.
Then Kima hit two consecutive three-pointers on her way to 14 points in the first quarter.
Leading 23-10, Dragons rotated their whole team, Claudia Caramidaru making an excellent reverse lay-up and 18-year-old Laura Moloney lighting up the scoreboard with five consecutive baskets, plus multiple rebounds and assists as Dragons made it 45-22.
Dragons’ shooting percentage dipped in the second half and the final quarter was a 10-10 draw.
