Premier Division high-fliers Jardy Boys and BD3 United both won 7-1 as first-round ties in the SPEN VALLEY LEAGUE CUP went to form.

Rob Ives scored twice as Jardy Boys saw off Division One strugglers Ravenswharfe Hotel, with Paul Pearson scoring the only consolation.

Johnny Beverley, Dan Stevens, Robert McCann, Jamie Shaw and Joe Hallass backed up Ives’ double.

It was a similar outcome for BD3 against lower-ranked Savile United, who had only Shuib Mohammed on target.

Talat Mahmood, Sajad Ali and Toseef Ashrad netted twice apiece, with Aman Yasin completing the tally.

Bradford, also riding high in the Premier Division table, had more difficulty accounting for Norfolk.

The Division One battlers bowed out 1-0, with only an own goal separating the sides.

Mouth Athletic put aside their Premier strugglers to brush aside mid-table Division One visitors ALC 4-0.

Raeez Lorgat led the way with a double, backed up by Mohammed Bham and Mohammed Adam.

One all-Premier clash went the way of Ravensthorpe Rangers as they beat Thornhill United Seniors 2-1.

BD3 United Reserves could not match their senior colleagues’ progress as they lost 3-0 at fellow Division One side Marsh.

It was 0-0 at the interval but then David Webster, Scott Newby and an own goal saw Marsh through.

The tie between Girlington and Thornhill United Seniors B was postponed.

League action saw PREMIER DIVISION leaders TVR United crush rock-bottom visitors Quarry 8-0.

Osif Iqbal’s hat-trick was backed up by Abid Khan (2), Ashiq Khan (2) and Ibrahim Khan, while Ashley Parkinson excelled in a losing cause for Quarry.

The third versus second match in DIVISION ONE between Howden Clough and Oakwell ended 3-3.

Phil Clarke fired a hat-trick for Howden Clough but his goals were cancelled out by Luke Newsome (2) and Richard Mark Smith.

Bottom side Inter Batley were beaten 5-1 at mid-table Bradford All Stars as goals by Muddassar Idrees (2), Darren Bolton (2) and Misbah Thouduay swamped H Dadhiwala’s reply.
