City are chasing a double swoop to make their inexperienced squad more street-wise for League Two.

Mark Lawn revealed they are in the market for two new faces to help the club over their stuttering start.

The joint-chairman would not disclose any targets but bolstering an attack that has scored only twice in four games looks the priority.

And Lawn hopes that at least one of the new players will be in place in time for Barnet’s visit on Saturday.

He said: “It’s been a disappointing start to the season. You can see some positives there but ultimately one point from 12 isn’t good enough and we’ve got to look at changing that.

“Maybe bringing in a couple more experienced players to help the young kids out will help. That’s what we are trying to search for and do.

“It will mean stretching the budget again but, to be fair, I think we’re going to have to do that. We need at least a couple who’ve done it at this level.”
