BRADFORD CITY AA Result of the latest open match on the River Ure at Lower Dunsforth: 1 R Evans (Kippax) 4lb 7oz, 2 W McAdam (Newton Aycliffe) 3lb 8oz, 3 A Miller (Bradford City) 1lb 9oz, 4 S Fox (Bradford City) 11oz.

The next match is on Sunday, August 28 at the same venue. Tickets are £15 all in and available from the match secretary on 07875-275749 or 01423-523368. There are still two golden pegs – the first is £100 and the second is £90.

The club have their annual meeting on Wednesday, September, 28 at Laisterdyke Cricket Club (7.30pm). Proposed rule changes must be submitted no later than August 31 to general secretary Mike Briggs, whose address is in the yearbook and whose e-mail is bradfordcityaa@aol.com.

At the annual meeting, the members will discuss and vote on these proposals. Any member may make up to three proposals, though he or she may also second other proposals. Every proposal must have a proposer and a seconder.

LISTERHILLS AA Two members have been suspended for deliberately foul-hooking fish, which caused the death of a large carp. Any further instances of this and the culprits will be expelled. The draw for tomorrow’s open match at Rodley is at 9am. The draw for Sunday’s members’ match at Linton is at 8am on the bank. Contact the match secretary. A few good-sized trout have been caught on the River Aire but minnows are a problem. Carp to 22lb from Pilley’s. Anglers fishing the canal in the late afternoon have been catching some better-sized fish than those fishing earlier. These have included tench.

WASHBURN VALLEY Catch details for week ending August 14 – Day ticket: Fewston 20, Swinsty 5, Thruscross (catch & return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 149, Swinsty 18, Thruscross 5. Average per rod: Fewston 7.5, Swinsty 3.6, Thruscross 5.0. The heaviest fish caught was a 6lb rainbow trout by D Howson using daddy long legs. Fewston and Swinsty: Cooler, damp mornings with plenty of fly life has really brought trout up to feed on daddies and hoppers. Fish topping in the early mist, taking buzzer, and emerging fly sedge and damsel nymph. Thruscross: Brown trout now taking dry fly as terrestrials are strewn across the water. Also hoppers, daddies and heather fly.

BRADFORD NO 1 AA The members’ match at Maunby on the River Swale was won by Alan Sugden with 8lb 10oz (a chub and a barbel). Adrian Lewis came a close second with 8lb 9oz, Colin Mortimer third with 8lb 7oz and Charlie Hardaker fourth with 8lb 3oz. Tickets are still available from Simon on 01274-571175 for this weekend’s open match at Beal on the River Aire. Knotford is worth a visit this weekend for carp, and Shelf is fishing well for bream. The River Ure at Boroughbridge is fishing well for roach and bream, so is worth a visit.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC We have a trip to Rhyl tomorrow, and anyone wishing to go should ring Brian on 07901-717615. We also have a trip to Rhyl on September 18, and there are two places left on this trip. Anyone wishing to go on it should also ring Brian to book a place.

HEWENDEN AC The reservoir is fishing really well at the moment, with the match weights on Sunday being excellent. Result: 1 I Fieldhouse 17lb 15oz (all roach on hemp), 2 N Bower 11lb 7½oz, 3 SNewns 11lb 3oz, 4 A Healy 10lb 10oz, 5 S Smith 10lb 2oz. For the float-only match on Sunday, the draw is in the car park at 9.15am. Would members please note there will be no pleasure anglers allowed while the the match is on.

Bingley AC We will have a vacancy for a new club secretary for 2012. Any member interested in taking on this position should contact any club official. Would the owner of two bite alarms left at Coppice Pond recently please contact the chairman. Coppice continues to fish well, with plenty of colour in the water and quality roach are showing at Sunnydale. The next match will be held at Sunnydale Reservoir on Sunday. KL TACKLE The junior match at Farview Fishery, Cottingley was won by Tom Addison with 8lb 4oz. 2 Kyle Eastwood, 3 Josh Kiteley 6lb 2oz, 4 Calum Lumbley 3lb 5oz. The match was well attended and all juniors received prizes and shields. We are in the process of arranging a further match before the end of the six-week holidays.
