Marathon girls succeed

Four members of Bradford Amateur Rowing Club have proved themselves to be marathon girls.

Louise Bromley, Cerys Jones and Nicola Oldroyd, all 16, and 17-year-old Kirsty Brown won the women’s junior 18 quad category at the Lincoln to Boston Rowing Marathon.

The Titus Salt School pupils, who were first-time entrants at this long-distance event, covered the 32 miles in 4hr 39min.

They finished ahead of two quads from Dame Alice Harper School in Bedford.
