City could have a new striker in to face Stockport at the weekend.
Peter Taylor confirmed he had a target in mind now that the emergency loan market is open again for clubs below the top flight.
With hamstring victim James Hanson stuck on the sidelines, the Bantams boss is looking for short-term cover in attack and had a player watched last night.
“Hanson might be out for two or three weeks with his injury so we could do with having another forward,” said Taylor.
“I know the loan system is available and there is somebody I’m looking at and I think it would help the front two.
“Sometimes you can get a fresh face in just for the sake of it but if I feel a player coming in would make a difference then I will definitely think about it.”
City have scored only two league goals in five games and one of those came from the penalty spot.
But Taylor, fresh from shooting down rumours of a rift with the board, remains bullish about their prospects.
“I’m not very happy at all with the results but we aren’t far away,” he said.
“I bet there were other teams who played a lot worse than us last Saturday and won. Unfortunately everything’s going against us at the minute – but that will change.”
Taylor expects David Syers to be in contention to face Stockport on Saturday.
The midfielder complained of soreness in his calf after the Port Vale loss. He did train on Monday but pulled out during the session.
Taylor said: “We’re hoping it’s just tiredness, rather than a pull. You have to be careful with players coming from non-league.
“I’m sure Hanson and (Steve) Williams felt the same when all of a sudden you’re going from part-time to full-time. You have to take that into account.
“David knows the areas he needs to improve on but I fancy him to be a goal-scorer for us from midfield, which is what he does in training.
“I think he will get better as a player but he’s got fantastic energy. In last week’s game, he got in the box every time.”

Well done Mr Taylor it's only taken you 5 games to notice we're not going to score enough goals this season.

Mike Grella from Leeds United, played against Grimsby reserves last night.

What we have been told was that Lawn agreed to increase the original budget allocated to Taylor, but that doesn't say it was substantial. We have also heard that Taylor went over this budget when he brought in Hunt and has been told funds are available for another forward, should he require one.

Does this mean less chance of seeing Moult up top and central? . I have said it before and has been mentioned by others on many occasions, it's width I feel we are lacking desperately, not easy for strikers to play their natural game without crosses been put in. . We thought managers would love to send their youngsters to us to work under Taylor, the way Moult has been handled I ain't so sure, anyone any ideas why he might not be first choice or even given a chance up top and central?. . Is it just me that feels this way re Moult?

I see Bradford Council wants to reduce light pollution. I suggest Bradford City switches off its floodlights as this will a) reduce pollution and b) make it less easy for the opposition to see City's goal and thereby giving them a better chance of ever winning at Coral Parade. Perhaps in respect of players they could be like the window company "you know I say you buy one, you get one free".........

The one part of the quote that stood out for me is, "there is somebody I’m looking at and I think it would help the front two". Front two? Don't we have four strikers that need help? Or does he mean the 'player' is to create the chosen front two with more chances?

The chairmen -particularly Julian Rhodes and his family- have done their financial best to provide money for the Team over the years. If you think more money should be going into the budget then what have YOU done to help increase it? We can all post immature criticisms and side-swipe the Chairmen based on ignorance of what the difficulties are in funding the Club. The Chairmen have said they will sell their shares in the Club without taking a profit from their investment if there are any buyers -interested?. I can't understand the criticism of people -both City supporters- who have put their money where their mouth is.
