Bradford clinched their first Yorkshire Inter-District title for four years with a 22-14 win over East Riding at Cleckheaton today.

The winner-takes-all clash on the final day of the season saw Tim Wade’s men triumph thanks to a 7-5 foursomes success followed by a 15-9 triumph in the afternoon singles.

Individual victories for the hosts came from Peter Fenton, Terry Brushwood, Darryl Berry, Matthew Atter, Dane Bairstow and Andy Fitzpatrick, while Nigel Colbeck, Jamie Mountain and Dave Woodcock – called up to replace the injured Andy Town – gained halves.
