There will be a Bradford derby in the FA Vase second qualifying round after Liversedge and Eccleshill United both won through their first qualifiers on Saturday.
LIVERSEDGE travelled north to take on Darlington Railway Athletic and came back on cloud nine with a 4-2 victory.
They began well and broke the deadlock in only the sixth minute, when a corner from Brook Newton was touched in by James Hurley.
The visitors doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark when Jermaine Moyce’s pass sent Newton away and his cross was fired home by Jamie Wasley.
Railway pulled a goal back soon after the break when Nick Harrison netted a low drive but Sedge regained the upper hand.
Another Newton cross saw Jerrod Peltier blast in the third goal and Wasley picked up a through-ball from Ryan Haigh to score the fourth.
A later header by Railway’s Fred Huscroft reduced the arrears but Sedge held firm.
They will now host ECCLESHILL, who triumphed 2-1 at home to knock Gillford Park out of the competition.
Another brace from Andy Howland sealed the Eagles’ passage. He deflected a Matt Dempsey shot into the net to give the home side a ninth minute lead.
Howland was picked out by a Dempsey free-kick in the second half and fired in his second goal after getting in front of his marker.
A reply from Michael Reed set up a tense finale and the Eagles’ nerves were jangling as they survived a last-minute scramble against a very good Northern League outfit.
BRIGHOUSE TOWN are also through after battling for a 2-0 win at nearby Glasshoughton Welfare.
It was a scrappy game on a difficult surface and Town boss Mark Brier was delighted to get through it with a victory.
He said: “We have gone there and got the job done, which we have to be pleased about given the circumstances.
“I thought we dominated long periods without really getting through to threaten their goal but the goals eventually came.
“I’d love to say the second was a masterstroke of substitution but it was down to Lee Burgess’ desire and I’m delighted for the lad. It was just what the doc ordered.”
Town took the lead with a first-half penalty when Nicky Boshell netted from the spot after he was brought down.
Then in the second half substitute Burgess scored with almost his first touch, sending in a dipping 30-yard volley.
Silsden will not be joining the rest of the area’s clubs in the next round after slumping to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Tow Law Town.
Mathew Scott put the visitors in front in the eighth minute from a rebound.
New Cobbydalers signing Lawrence Hunter, from Bradford Park Avenue, netted a fortunate leveller just after the hour mark when his shot came off the bar and hit the Tow Law keeper before going in.
A block by Silsden keeper Chris Thompson could not deny the visitors another tap-in, this time for Lewis Harrison as he netted the winner.
