Keighley maintained their winning ways with a five-try demolition of Skipton in Yorkshire Division One yesterday.
Although the early exchanges were evenly contested, visiting hooker Nathan Thornton managed to break the deadlock with a well-taken try, after an expansive period of play.
In the second half, Keighley dominated the forward exchanges.
Two line-outs in the Skipton 22 were driven over the try-line, on each occasion young prop Craig Spencer grounding.
With a significant points advantage under their belts, Keighley weathered a period of Skipton pressure to release their backs.
A fine break by speedy full back Mark Beckett was finished in the corner by winger Adam Balderstone.
In the final stages of the game, Thornton celebrated his return to the first team after injury with his second try.
Alex Brown added to his points tally with a long-range penalty and two conversions. Skipton’s points came from a penalty from wing forward Matt Speres.
