England Counties, who included Wharfedale duo Mark Bedworth and Rob Baldwin, were beaten 29-11 by France Amateurs on a wet night in Roubaix.
Counties’ forwards coach Dave Baldwin said: “The French side played well, took their chances well, played in the right areas of the field and deserved their win.”
