No hard feelings, says Boulding

Michael Boulding still wants City to win promotion for the “amazing” fans.

Boulding and Peter Thorne were both paid up this week as Peter Taylor’s new broom sweeps through Valley Parade.

But the striker is not bitter over his departure – and hopes the Bantams can find their long-overdue success.

He said: “I’ve had a great time at City and they are a fantastic club. The only down part was the actual playing side for me because I didn’t get enough games.

I think the fans are absolutely amazing. I just hope for all the people involved that they get the promotion they deserve

Michael Boulding

“But I think the fans are absolutely amazing. I just hope for all the people involved that they get the promotion they deserve.

“I think they’ve got the right man as manager to do that. He is very experienced at working to a budget and bringing in loan signings and I’m sure he will take the club forward.

“It’s far too big a club to be languishing around in the bottom division.”

Boulding has spent the bulk of the season on the bench but he admits last season was more frustrating when City’s play-off push collapsed to nothing.

He said: “We had such a good team and looked like we were cruising. Then we just blew up.

“This season I didn’t really get much of a chance and didn’t play enough games.

“It’s disappointing to finish like it has but I think it’s the best thing to do it now rather than drip on to the end of the season.

“I might not agree with the (club’s) decision but I can totally accept it. Only time will tell whether it was right.

“Obviously the club is being run as a tight ship now. It will be good for them to work with the youngsters and think to the long term. I need to be out there playing every week and scoring goals.

“It’s no good for me watching a mid-table League Two team from the bench – that’s not what I’m about.”

Boulding is not allowed to play for anyone else this season, although he can train at another club.

He added: “There are only six or seven weeks left so it’s not a complete disaster.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people in the last few days and just need a fresh start, somewhere I can play week in, week out.”

All the best to all the departed, quite emotional seeing McCall's squad ripped to bits.
At the same time I understand why it is happening and look forward to a solid future under Taylor.
I hope people do realise football probably will not be pretty at times under Taylor, but with many more wins....
One thing I beleive that will be obvious to us most of the time is exactly what the players have been asked to do when on the field, which sadly wasnt the case under McGod.
I predict fans moaning on here about entertainment levels at VP next season even if we are winning 1-0 every game.
When is Parker allowed to tell us all Chris has left the club?
I bet Capello, Terry, Bridge and Ashley Cole to name a few wish all journalists only printed what they were told !!! :-)

nice comments; he has obviously taken a lump sum with the proviso that the club hold his registration:he he wants to sign for another club that there will be a payback of the compensation in order to release the registration.

Compare this to Brandon who wants
d the lump sum compensation and the registration so he has the possibility of a double pay day.

Greedy man, Mr Bradford City.

There is no statement that he has agreed to go despite comments on these pages. So what is the actual position?

agreement was reached yesterday lunch time Tyker.
It is not possible to post proof on here though before anyone asks as 1) I did not record my phone call and
2) If I had I dont think it would be possible to post.
I aint going to get involved in any of Waynus' disgreements anymore and apologies to the genuine posters and reades for contributing to what was a ridiculous on going spat with him the other day.

I doubt that Mickey has taken a lump sum on the proviso that the club hold his registration.

reason being, a player has to be a free agent before the end of the transfer window to sign for another club outside of it.

So your comments of Brandon holding out for both is off the mark.

Brandon, I'll agree though is probably holding out for as much as he can get which I don't begrudge him for, the club offered him the contract that he's expecting to be paid for.

Brandon was offered a contract which he signed. If BCFC wants to change it before it's finished then they have to respect the wishes of Chris Brandon if he does not.
What would we be saying if Brandon wanted to terminate his contract because it suited his wishes rather than those of Bradford City?
I have never met the bloke and have been disapointed by his performances in a City shirt. That said, at his age he needs to look to his future. I think we would all do the same in his position.
Good luck to Michael Boulding in the future.

I personally think only 4/5 players will remain from McCalls squad next season. I can see Scotty being shipped out also along with Flynn, Bullock,Rehman,James OB,Bateson,Clarke and also Luke OB will jump ship. It will be a major rebuilding job and if Taylor isn't tied down we will be in real trouble and could very easily be the next Grimsby next season. To ease tyhe fans worries we need to offer Taylor a deal now and we at least know we are in safe hands. Ripping the squad apart is all very good but you have to rebuild it at the same time. My players that i see remaining are Ramsden, hanson,Evans
,Daley, possibles Clarke, Rehman (depends on contract and if any suiters out there) Luke Ob and thats it if i'm honest.

Whilst i agree with most of you're post the only thing that is a slight worry is if we can get PT into a contract its not worth the paper its written on that's including the club and PT,we can only hope that if both parties commit to each other that loyalty will prevail.Theres no doubt PT is the best manager for this job,the question is at the end of the season will he still want the job,we will see and lets hope so.

Micky is a top bloke and as far as I am concerned has a first class attitude. All the best Michael in the future, just don't come back to haunt us!!

My feelings are the writing was on the wall for Boulding and I think it is too for Brandon. Taylor is ripping the squad apart to build it for himself. To me that seems to speak of someone who is planning to stay. Even if he doesn't I think we can all agree a clear out is needed to move this club forward. I can cope with boring football at this level so long as the end product is promotion out of the basement. I think where people like Gary Megson fell down was the fact it was boring football and a poor league position. We have tried to pass it with McCall but now maybe a change in tactics will be beneficial for us. CITD!!!!!

what other interpretation can be put on these words.

"Boulding and Peter Thorne were both paid up this week and then"

"Boulding is not allowed to play for anyone else this season, although he can train at another club."

in other words the player has had his contractual wages paid up in a lump sum with the contract being held by the club.

players who have no contract and their registration can play on a non contract basis elsewhere even though the transfer deadline has passed.

Brandon may have left but he definitely wanted it both ways:the club to pay up his wages and to be able to earn a crust elsewhere as a non contract player.

others have said agreement has been reached and fatbloke who probably has Baldwin as his source is right BUT agreement with BRANDON was far more difficult to achieve and this from a player who has spent more time injured than on the field.

the club could simply have said -- you are contracted here until the end of the season. you will be playing no more games, you will attend training sessions as you are contracted to do but you will not be in the first team squad for training and you will attend all home games but it wanted to do the best it could for him.

THANKFULLY ANOTHER SM SIGNING WILL BE GONE!!

As regards Taylor's methods of getting 1-0 wins :their will be those complaining about not winning with style enough BUT wins get promotion!!

Micky can't play elsewhere due to FL rules. He was contracted to us in the last transfer window and as such can't just cancel his contract and move elsewhere. It doesnt matter who holds his registration unless he is prepared to drop well down the non league pyramid he simply cannot sign or play for anybody else.

All the best Michael,it didn't work out for you at BCFC but you gave it your best shot.Good luck with your next club,i'm sure you'll be scoring plenty of goals for whoever you sign for .

On MACCAS POST ABOVE,I DON'T THINK EITHER CLARKE OR NEILSON WILL BE SHIPPED OUT AS THEY ARE GOOD PLAYERS AT THIS LEVEL,would be surprised if either Bullock or Flynn were shown the door, can't see Luke OB going either and would imagine Bateson will stay. The impression i'm getting is that Taylor wants to stay and is enjoying his time at BCFC.

As previously predicted Boulding would leave City a happy man, having been paid up for the rest of his contract (who wouldn't be) but best of luck to him.

Can anybody shine some light on the following 3 statements in this article:

Boulding is not allowed to play for anyone else this season, although he can train at another club.

AND

“It’s no good for me watching a mid-table League Two team from the bench – that’s not what I’m about.”

AND

“There are only six or seven weeks left so it’s not a complete disaster.

Mickey B was rarely played in a style that suited him. It was common knowledge that he liked to play on the last man, yet we rarely played him through. As others have said, we tended to give him the ball too deep or with his back to goal.

He showed earlier this season, (with three goals in consecutive games) that if we play to his strengths, he will get us goals. Unfortunately, it didn't happen often enough.

Good luck Mickey.... unless you are playing against us!

A club of the size and support of city is an attractive proposition to a manager with form. PT will be here next season at least becuase he wants to rebuild his reputation. Right man, right place, right time. And, frankly, 1 - 0, a 94th minute in-off a backside will do me compared to what we have faced the last three years...

another yes from me too. Tired of this division and looking at a league table offering no excitement for us.
