Rehman 'humbled' by PFA award

Zesh Rehman has won the PFA player in the community award.

The City defender picked up his trophy at the Football League awards gala dinner in London.

Rehman said: “I feel very humbled but had I not won, I would have continued to work in the community because I believe in it strongly.

“Hopefully other clubs can start to look at Bradford and use them as a template and mirror what we do in their club.

“Football is the perfect vehicle to make a difference.”

Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford was named PFA League One player of the year, Rochdale centre-half Craig Dawson won the League Two award and Championship player of the year was Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan.

excellent work by Zesh. Good for him for believing in the work and doing it. A quality award. Makes a change to see a pro footballer showing genuine initiative and putting something back.

Well done, Zesh! This award DOES matter particularly to clubs like City who have to try to attract local support when the tendency is for the young to support 'Charsenchesterpool'
!!!
The community as well as local support and local football talent is the way forward!!l

Well done Zesh,

Absoloutly brilliant, well deserved and well done.

Nice to see the club go beyond just the game of football.

Our club is a true community club and it's nice to see it's most senior players giving something back to the community.

Well done lad.

Maybe he should spend more time working on not letting the ball bounce over him, costing us god knows how many goals this season.
.
All this community works counts for very football wise if he can't deliver on the pitch. If we see another season similar to this he may as well take up community work full time.

well done to zesh rehman, as far as im concerned youngsters at the club should look at zesh and take his attitude. ok yeah hes not the best defender weve had over the years but in my opinion hes no worse than clarke or williams.
well done if only all footballers had the same attitude
