British champion James Dabill dominated the first round of the ACU Events British Championship at Low North Park.
The 23-year-old Cookridge international rode his JST Gas Gas to a 27-penalty advantage over Scarborough’s MRS Sherco teamster Michael Brown.
Halifax teenager Jack Challoner claimed third place for Silsden based Beta-UK.
* Phillip Frizzell, Clive Armistead and Joshua Reynolds were the class winners at the Yeadon-Guiseley club’s first novice and beginners trial of the season at Deer Park, Bingley.
* Robin and Sam Luscombe took a strong second place in the third round of the ACU Challenge Lusky British Sidecar Trials Championship at Redruth.
The Cullingworth finished behind reigning champions Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes.
“We were debited a failure on one section, for what reason neither of us understand,” said Robin.
“It could have been a transcription error in results compilation. If the five marks debited is cleared we would be just six points down on Tuck and Sparkes. As it stands now we are still ranked second, only four championship points behind Tuck.”
