Christmas rush for City season tickets

City today reminded fans: Don’t miss out on a cheap season ticket.

The cut-price deal has just over a week to run.

City have sold over 2,600 so far, which is 800 up on 12 months ago when they eventually shifted 4,500.

And they are anticipating a similar post-Christmas rush to hit the 5,000 target.

Director of operations David Baldwin said: “We see that as a sensible figure. If we can achieve 5,000 now then we are more likely to make the 10,000 overall.

“Last year there was very much a big rush between Christmas and New Year and we expect that to be the case again. So I would encourage fans to be patient.

“I would ask them to understand that there are only so many windows that are going to be open and only so many staff available.”

Fans can currently snap up season-tickets for £150 for adults or £75 for under-16s. The prices drop to £110 and £55 in the TL Dallas Stand.

Under-11s go free providing they are bought at the same time as an adult ticket, although there is a small administration charge.

Entry to the supporter suites costs £110 and £55 and that is the same price for 25-year ticket holders, which includes suite access.

City have already warned supporters to expect a “significant” rise in costs once the offer has run out. How much more will depend on the total sold by the end of the month.

Baldwin added: “A lot of people have asked me about the possible price in March. The honest answer is based on what we sell at Christmas.

“The whole ethos of cheap season tickets is all based on selling 10,000 in total. If we think there’s going to be a shortfall now, then we’re going to have to calculate that variable into the price hike.

“I understand it’s not affordable to everybody now but we’ve introduced this scheme in the best interests of the whole collective. If people are waiting until February or March time then hopefully it’s still going to be a fair price – but if not, they are going to know well in advance that they will be paying more.”

The ticket office is open until 1pm tomorrow. It re-opens from 9am to 3pm on Monday to coincide with the Shrewsbury home game and then for normal office hours until 1pm on New Year’s Eve when the offer ends.

I will be renewing between Xmas and New Year......but it is with a heavy heart and no expectation that things are going to get better any time soon.
Year after year, our team is terrible. When, I wonder, are we going to have anything to shout about?

Still.........CTID

Shaun whilst i agree with most of your comments i cant see the sense in repeating McCALL OUT at the end of every post, you will not influence the board who like you and many of us know that things arent right or good enough, the sales of season tickets might change things maybe the team will start playing well.maybe Stuart will brging in a couple of players to fill in key positions that are letting themselves, club and fans down.I agree Stuart has had enough time to sort things out but whilst there is unrest in the camp between Brandon and Stuart to name but one of the disputes things will not change. For gripping Stuart round the throat and putting him up against the wall he should walk whatever the reason,Stuart must stand up to the mark and sack him.In the mean time Shaun lighten up and see what happens over christmas, sometimes the devil you know is better then the devil you dont know.

Who's going to replace Stuart? Mark Hughes? Think not we can't afford these type of managers and shouldn't anyway. The players just need to realise that they have a job to do and if they can't then they must go. Stuart can't do their jobs for them. £150 is a bargain for the ticket and I'll probably renew but the club should extend until end of Jan at least. We've all spent a load at this time of year anyway. If they "hike" the price up after the offer date then we'll probably only have 5 or 6000 next season!

I would rather go watch leeds at bellend road than watch another season of dross at VP. We should be looking for a good up and coming manager like hill at rochdale, must be a few about.

Make that 2601!

What's all this about Brandon grabbing Stu by the throat - I thought it was Bazza Conlon who did that last season?

If the rumour is true about Brandon, and those about Rehman too when he was brought off at half time, why do we keep having so many team bust-ups? I've never punched a colleague in my work, so why is it necessary/acceptable in football?

Brandon put Stuart up against a wall. You are having a laugh. I would back the wife against Brandon. If this is true, then Stuart should go for being a softlad, but i hope he stays and we improve in the new year. things can only get better.

Its balls about Brandon and yes Conlon did last year.
bradfordmark, he may be small but I woud back him against the biggest of City players, lets not go down that route though because it is a bit childish. (I only know because I attended middle and upper school with him)

Im still a Macall fan and I always will be lawn gave him a 3 years contract so lets get behind him until its up.but I've got to say I preferred him being a ledgend leg-end. New year straight up to the top 3 never mind the playoffs bought my ticket last week. come on the lads.

Must say it’s all about loyalty and supporting your club, some of you who can’t make your minds up about buying a season ticket the ones on sale at bellend road are a few quid more, at least three times more.
Listening to the radio a few games back some Leeds fans were moaning about the amount of points they had dropped??? Would appear that you can’t keep everyone happy.

JCK/HFX Surely your not suggestig another clearout and rebuild in the summer, the third on the trot, it's hardly the sort of continuity a club strvin for success needs.

We are going nowhere under SM, 3 home wins all season tells you everything you need to know, anyother manager would have had his cards by now, as for who would come in, I would have snapped Peter Taylor up the moment he left wycombe.
I dont for one minute believe the figures quoted for season ticket sales, after all this comes from a club who claim theres 11000+ at every home game, yeh right, not for at least the last 3 months there hasnt!!

SM hasnt a clue what it takes to achieve promotion in this division and never will have.

I will be getting my ticket (and the wife and childrens) early on monday! A super bargain not to be missed.
I will and still support my team through thick and thin and i still believe that we will improve, if not this season than the next( or maybe the one after that! ) It might sound a bit silly but going to watch city with the family is our day out. We love it, even if we lose we still enjoy watching our club and we always will.
Bring on the next game and merry xmas to all.

Good riddance.... hope you enjoy the football at Bellend Road.

As for Hill, how many years has it taken him to get a successful team built at Rochdale???????

I renewed mine and the kids in the first week of Christmas. Despite results at home, I have enjoyed the football and excitement (other than Rochdale).

Stuart does make some poor decisions and I am not convinced he has the attributes needed to improve and become a decent manager. However, if you write off the first 2 seasons as a learning curve that went belly-up, we HAVE made improvement this season.

We have got shut of most of the players that were draining resource without adding much back. There are still a couple more, but we cannot do anything about them until the end of the season. In the place of those that left, we have raw talented lads that ARE LEARNING and will keep learning. Surely the fact that these players have better prospects than the likes of McLaren, Lee & Arnison etc is a positive?

Neilson is a young talent with a lot of prospect. If he continues to develop, he will be a much better player than Colbeck will ever be. The same can be said of Hanson (over Conlon), Evans (over Boulding) and Williams (over Lee). Then there are J O'Brien & Bateson too.

We have had TWO very poor performances but several poor results. Last season we were out-fought in midfield, despite the likes of Law & Furman. This season is different and we have rarely been over-run. We need better, more clinical finishing and a stronger, no-holds barred defender, not to mention a more commanding keeper and I believe we will have the right balance to get up the table.

Despite our current position and recent results....... WE ARE NOT A MILLION MILES AWAY FROM BEING A TOP LEAGUE 2 TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Get your season tickets renewed and support the club!
