Bradford No 2’s snooker team were in action at the weekend in the Yorkshire Inter-District League.
They travelled to leaders Sheffield No 2 and, despite Gareth Green winning a first-frame black-ball game, the team fell to a 5-1 defeat.
Green lost a close second frame, after which Damian Wilks lost both of his contests to Mitchell Travis.
Captain Hanif Rafiq also lost both frames to Wayne Wooton, who made a break of 112.
The team are back in action on Sunday when they host Leeds at Manningham Ward Club.
Bradford No 1 also play on Sunday, taking on Sheffield No 1 at Thornton Conservative Club. Both games start at 7.30pm.
Bradford’s No 2 billiards team continue their fine form at West Bradford Bowls Club with a 7-0 whitewash of Thorne.
Paul Devitt, Richard Lodge and Richard Bowes all had good wins against decent opposition.
Bradford face Harrogate on Saturday, again at West Bradford Bowling Club.
Tomorrow night the Moorhouse Shield billiards tournament gets underway with two preliminary round ties – Queensbury Conservatives A v Undercliffe Cricket Club and Eccleshill Working Men’s Club v Chapel Green Liberal Club.
The return legs will be played a week tomorrow.
