Leeds debutant Ford goes Green again for Wharfedale

England under-18 fly half Joe Ford returns to National League One action in Wharfedale’s clash at home to Sedgley Park.

The talented playmaker is back for the Greens after scoring 18 points on his debut for Premiership side Leeds Carnegie in their 28-17 LV= Cup win against Leicester Tigers.

Ford’s Carnegie call-up forced him to miss Wharfe-dale’s last two league matches. To accomodate his return, the versatile Luke Gray moves to full back, with James Tincknell res-uming on the wing.

Sam Cottrell, who came off the bench in last Saturday’s Yorkshire Cup win at Harrogate, returns to play his first league match since mid-September.

Kick-off has been brought forward to 2pm.

Otley, currently 12th, have a tough game at home to league leaders Esher as they look to end a run of three straight defeats.

Bradford & Bingley also take on the top side in National League Two North when they travel to Loughborough Students.

A young Bees side suffered an upset in last week’s Yorkshire Cup first-round tie, losing 30-0 to North One East side Sandal.

The pressure is on Cleckheaton, who host Penrith in National League Three North knowing they need to start picking up points as they aim to climb the table.

Ryan Pearcey returns after missing the last two weeks but Dom Castle is unavailable.

Rhys Jackson is set to start at inside centre with Owen Edwards missing.

The game will kick off at 2.15pm rather than 3pm at the insistence of the visitors.
