Bingley’s Ian Hutchinson will be on his bike in the Far East this weekend to compete in the 43rd Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix.
In the first qualifying session yesterday, Hutchinson put himself in contention for a podium berth as he finished in third place.
It will be the 30-year-old’s fifth visit to the circuit, but he’s only managed one top-three finish on the track so far - in 2006.
However, the trip does hold some eastern promise for the Yorkshireman, as he already has four race wins under his belt this year.
The highlight of his season to date are the Supersport and Superstock TT titles he claimed at the Isle of Man TT this summer.
‘Hutchy’ will be racing for the Paul Bird Motorsport team in the 15-lap event, with the Circuite Da Guia course being 6.12 kilometres in length.
