Dewsbury-based Savile Stars have applied to join the Bradford Mutual Sunday School Cricket League.
The club had two teams in the Leeds-West Riding League until it was disbanded at the end of the 2009 season, with the first team coming runners-up in Division One and the second team winning Division Two. The second team also won the Barnbow Cup.
“We have invited them to our annual meeting on December 4 but we would like our member clubs to consider their application in the meantime,” said league secretary Joy Wigglesworth.
Umpires’ Association vice-chairman Paul Newbould said: “Savile Stars’ ground at Sands Lane is almost 11 miles from Bradford city centre – not much further away than Marley Stadium, where Heaton play.”
