Five members of Leeds Karate Academy (which has a base in Farsley) will represent England at the European Karate Championships in Austria from November 27 to 29.

Ashley Scott and Ryan Tucker will be hoping to add to their medals at the World Championships in Mexico earlier this year.

Assistant instructor David Wright has been chosen for the 18-20 years individual and team kumite and the junior individual and team kata.

Melissa Finlay will gain her second cap for her country while Stephen Brown will be making his international debut in the men’s cadets kumite events.
