Bradford United’s Under-Nines’ 20-match winning streak came to an end in the Keybury League when they lost 3-0 at Stanningley.
The home side thoroughly deserved their win, proving too fast and too strong for a United side that were far from their best.
Jack Holroyd helped keep the score down with some great saves in the first half, but Eisa Mitchell was their man of the match.
Horsforth St Margarets Under-Sevens Colts made it seven wins out of seven with a hard-fought 3-1 victory at Leeds Maccabi.
Harry Widdop scored twice and Oscar Helliwell netted his first goal of the season.
Westwood Under-Eights had a fine 10-0 victory against Skipton, Max Maguire leading the way with four goals, others coming from Lucas Keenen, Kian King, Jacob McIntosh, Daniel Francis, Joseph Gallagher and Josh Allen.
Bradford United Scorpions’ man of the match was Hamas Khan in their 5-1 victory at Horsforth.
Thomas Marshall (4) and Felix Panwar got the goals but Frankie Brimacombe was again influential with his tackling.
Bradford Lizards went down 2-1 at Horsforth Broncos, despite three fine saves by Jack Wright in the opening minutes. The Lizards’ score was an own goal.
Bradford Tigers seemed well on their way to their second victory of the season when they led Keighley Shamrocks 3-0 in a relegation clash at Parkwood Stadium in Division 13B of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League.
Man of the match Joe Gartland had tucked away two neat goals and was claiming a hat-trick when his shot bounced back off a post and hit the Shammies keeper before going in.
It was ruled as an own goal, however, and although they had further chances, Lucas Clayden’s shot skimming the angle of post and bar, it was 3-3 by half-time.
Shammies then took the lead, only for Jordan Kitch-ing to pull Tigers level, but the hosts then won their first game of the season from a penalty.
Luke McKenna (2), Ben Parnaby, Callum Smithurst and Cameron Galindo were on target for basement club Shamrocks, who played some tidy football and are now only a point behind Tigers before Sunday’s return fixture.
Thackley Lightning fell 1-0 behind in the first five minutes of their Division 12E match but then overpowered Shipley Panthers 11-1.
Man of the match Jared Snaith Minogue scored three, Aaron Hickman and Callum Jepson bagging braces, Joe Finnigan, Jenson Joseph, Kaylen Flinger and Bradley Binns completing the tally.
Wilsden Under-12s are through to the semi-finals of the Liam Daley Trophy after beating Sandy Lane 5-0, Luca Zenti soon putting the winners ahead.
After Lane had threatened, Joe Hutchinson made it 2-0, heading in a Sam Murphy corner, the latter then scoring himself from Pip Greetham’s excellent through ball.
Zenti was tripped in the area, Murphy converting the spot-kick, and Adam Vaux rounded things off with a far-post header.
Farsley Celtic Under-Ten Blues went down 3-1 at home to Garforth Villa A in the Garforth League.
Man of the match Jake Flynn got Farsley’s goal, while Eddie Gander’s strike for Farsley was all that separated the teams in the B team clash.
