Does anybody know why all of the Bulls pre-season friendlies are always away fixtures?

Yes! Most are too old to 'snow board' down to the terraces in January!.

For those of you who haven't done it, and I'm sure many have. Take a look at Manly Sea Eagles site on Google. Go onto Forums and check out the tribute to OX. (Orford)
There you will find 4 pages of fans crying in their beer. NOT ONE bad word, only GLOWING PRAISE for the "toughest player in NRL" and "A Great leader" Sadly missed etc.,

There is no doubt this guy has made a massive impact at Manly and the fans are devastated to lose him.

Just thought I'd mention this as the clap-trap from the odd person who says he's past it is certainly not shared by the people who have been watching him ply his trade in the NRL.

From what these fans say, he's tailor made to take over the reigns as captain and lead the Bulls to glory.

So go on, if you haven't already, Take a look.

Oxxy was fantastic in 2007-08, but in 2009 he was well below his best. 1.5 million for a 31 year old, crazy money. he might play better with a different pack of forwards, but hes not getting any younger.

I'm sure Orford will be a good addition but £280,000 per year (if reports are correct) is silly money for a 31 year old. If that was the amount the Bulls were willing to spend we could probably have had the pick of the NRL and i'm not sure that Orford would be at the top of my list. Still a good signing though. I'm actually looking forward to next season now. I was dreading it. Hope Orford earns his money or there might be trouble in the Bradford ranks again!

Probably because we take more fans away than a lot of other teams and as its a split on gate reciepts it makes more sence, also the huge terraces at odal can be a nightmare to clear in mid winter and why wreck our pitch pre-season!!

G'day Jack, Yes I appreciate your comments and it has been said he was below his best 2009 but that often happens and we hope a change of scenery will prod him back to form.( I believe he was injured too?)

There is no doubting his quality and no substitute for class.

If you are in touch with our game over here and have seen the Scrum Halves who might be available, the fee is soon put into perspective. As regards his age, he's playing in a position where he can operate his skills for some years yet and if we take Lockyer or Beaver as a benchmark there's plenty of time for him!.

The Bulls have been crying out for a leader for some years and Ox alongside Beaver could be just what they need.

I hope he does well. As you say he was fantastic and you don't usually go from fantastic to useless in one season but we'll see.

Where we differ from you at Manly is we are wallowing towards the bottom of a very poor League and have had some VERY ordinary players and remember this is Superleague NOT the NRL. We only have a couple of sides who would get anywhere near your league in ability. So when stars come along, old or otherwise, it's like a breath of fresh air to us and hopefully this lot will point us back towards the play-offs again.

Hope you continue to enjoy you Rugby and all the best for 2010.

LOL, Haitch, as soon as you make that post trying to convince me, there's a very famous Manly name come on and tell you Orford is past it.

Don't try and put him on a pedestal next to Lockyer please either.

Anyhow Haitch, regardless or what I say or you and the Manly fans say, I'm not arguing this one any more, you'll just have to wait and see.

I'm pretty confident I will be correct again, but as always, i'm always willing to admit the call was wrong if it is.

SMFTS, are you sure your even a bulls fan as i have never once seen you put anything positive, whats the point of following a team if all your gonna do is **** about them. Yes if we are all honest we are disapointed with how the bulls have been going over the years. But at the end of the day its a sport something you go to to have fun enjoy and socialise. You are either a manic depressent or void of enjoying yourself. All the signs coming out of the bulls this pre season seem to be positive, We have got rid of deadwood, players on to much and bought really well. I am realistic and not gonna say we will win the league but any move that is improvement will make me happer than this year.So why dont you stop winging, stop pretending to know the future cause you dont and just shut up and wait,. IF we are worse than go ahead and winge as much as you like. But for now please just shut up with the negativity
